Castaway Pad

I asked on a list about using the Castaway Pad as I had not had good results with my previous tries. Well a vendor offered up some tips to try for getting results. So I gave it another whirl, and another and another! Finally I found this pink paper and it worked on here giving me a bit of an off white or cream color. Overnight it changed to more white (or my eyes were just seeing better in the morning lol) I have since finished this piece off for use as a mini folder and I am pleased with the results. I tried many scraps of paper last night to see what the Castaway Pad worked on and didn't and I can't find any method to the madness it just happened to work on this particular paper. I will try some other scraps when I get more playtime again as it is fun and I can see many possibilities for using it.

Floral Rolodex

My list is running a Rolodex swap and these are the cards I made for the Floral Theme last month. I love the tiny Prima's and when I got a new stamp set from innovativestampcreations it had the bold F on it so I thought the Prima complimented the top corner just right :) I went from there using the bright orange ribbon to jazz it up a bit! I can't wait to get this one back and find a holder to fit the cards so I can put them on display. I had started it as a gift idea but now I am thinking I can't part with it! We shall see....

I absolutely love the spotlighting technique! It is a great way to show off one particular stamp. For this one I choose SU Garden Collage © stamping it on some cream flecked paper I had twice and then using my Marvy square punch to punch out around the butterfly. I also punched a black square to mount that on and then trimmed my butterfly punched square just slightly to make a black border. I used both my watercolor crayons and also pastel chalks for coloring the butterfly square. I mounted it on top of the other flecked stamped image lining up the edges so it looked like it was part of the picture and then continued matting and layering with card stock from the Paper Place that I had on hand. I added a bit of ribbon that was laying around too :) I really liked how it turned out.

Altered Matchbox

This is a die cut matchbox from debbiesdiecuts (see link on the side) she has so amazing things to play with!

I stamped both inside and outside of it then
folded it up to create the box and the insert.

I used a bit of ribbon I had on hand to hold it together since I stuffed it so full of little goodies
LOL! I then added the colored "Popsicle" stick that is stamped on one end and says "Consider Yourself Hugged" I hope the person who is receiving it enjoys all the little goodies inside.

This was a fun and quick project to do!

Made this for another swap using some of my "new" toys :) I love pink & black combo's so since I had a bit of this fantastic black patterned ribbon left I started with it and added on the Cuttlebug punched piece of pink that I had stamped with my Autumn Leaves Clear Stamps - Elegant Flourishes from Rhonna Farrer. I also stamped that on the other pink piece and used for matting/layering. Then it is simply altering the black and pink to build up the layers. I of course wasn't satisfied with a plain oval layer under the Cuttlebug cut so I used my scalloped oval punch for it! Much better LOL! The stamp by the side says "wishing you a day filled with good things" it is stamped inside. The stamp is made by Hero Arts, I picked it up at my local lss when I had attended one of the stamp chats.

That's it for to work now :(

Another Sketch try

I made this card for a swap I am in that I had to use some ribbon. Although I ended up with a variety they were all based on the sketch challenge card I had seen on Saturday before I left town. Also what I based the card for the wedding on in the previous post :) I used my TAC scriptures set and some of my patterned paper from TAC also. The ribon was just a scrap I had on hand and it is actually white polka dotted on the other side but I thought it looked to busy LOL. I cut the scalloped square and edged it with my SU Stampin Spot Tempting Turquoise, it matched my cs perfectly! I layered the patterned paper on white cs and edged it too with the SU Spot.

I enjoyed making the cards for this swap!

Wedding Card

One of my SIL was getting married Saturday and I figured I needed to make a card for dh to give to her. I got some new papers from SweetWater the Cupid Collection that I used. Also had to play with my scalloped oval some more LOL. I had jumped online real fast in the AM to get some layout inspiration and found a delightful sketch challenge to use too! I punched an oval for the envelope too.

Hope she enjoyed the card as much as I enjoyed making it!
