Mom's Birthday Card

I decided to make my mom a fun Z-Fold card for her birthday this month. I used some semi-glossy white cs for the Z part and layered it onto pink cs base. I then layered some paper from my 6x6 pad Making Memories Boho Chic Embellishment Paper Petite Paisley. I stamped the saying "You're not getting older...." from the CTMH Card Sentiments D1111 Set on a piece of the Petite Paisley paper and mounted it onto another piece of the pink cs for the top. Inside on the semi-glossy white cs I stamped the other half of the saying "you're getting better!" from the CTMH Card Sentiments D1111

I used my Belle Rose Palette Ink from TAC to stamp the saying and to edge the paper. I finished the top off with a mini prima and a green brad for the center.

My mom has a thing for snowpeople so when I saw the Cuttlebug die cut that had a snowman on it I knew I had to get it to use for her :) I cut one of him out and put it on a strip of the Petite Paisley paper and then mounted that onto the side of her envelope. You can see him on the lower left corner there in the pic!

Mom loved it and I was glad I had taken the time to put him there!

Make it Sparkle

so the assignment was to make it sparkle - now I AM NOT THE GLITTER QUEEN so I have to use alternate means of sparkle :) I choose to use Stickles again here...I think it is my new favorite product LOL!

I cut out 3 flowers with my cuttlebug and one of their dies. I then added the stickles to them and let them dry.

Once again I was using my scraps up so I edged the striped paper I found with my Palette Belle Rose Ink Pad, I edged the flowers just a bit to and then drug the ink pad along the little half oval thing where I stamped the word friends. That is a TAC stamp from the set The Good Life TAC-2626

I used a floral brad from my stash to attach the word on the lower left corner and then mounted the entire thing onto light green cs. I then attached my dried flowers with mini glue dots in the centers.

Fun card so I decided to make another one with the same Stickled flowers...since I am using scraps though it is of course NOT quite the same.

this one I mounted the flowers onto a strip of silver metallic striped paper I found - it is thick almost like card board. I used mini silver brads in the centers to attach them.

I then mounted that onto the last of the paper I had that matched the flowers - it was the back of an ad or something I tore from a magazine :)

I then mounted that onto the other half of the light green cs. I used my Be Authentic T-2181 TAC set to stamp the word hello and then I used the stickles to trace along it to for a little more sparkle!

That's all for now.........

Oriental Woman Card

I made this card for a one on one swap - the theme was You Make Me Feel Like A Woman. I loved the Oriental lady, I had stamped her at a get together some time ago (so sorry I don't know who she is made by) and embossed her with black embossing on glossy cs. I cut her out and layered her onto some linen type paper I found in my scraps. I added a bit of Washi paper I also found in my scraps along the side of the card. I didn't want to use a saying or anything but rather leave it blank so that a person could write a short note inside to their friend. I thought the top looked a little "nekkid" though so I added a charm to the top that was tied with a bit of Scrappers Floss from CTMH.

I matted my linen paper with black cs and then mounted it onto my blue base card. Easy one to make but I was really pleased with the outcome.

I need a new computer!

Click on the frog...

this is a hoot and a cute way to reach out and ask for help!

"pop" out cards

I made this card for a Gift type swap and it is actually a pull out one and I choose to use Popcorn for it - thus the name "pop" out card :)
I used my TAC hostess set of penguins which are adorable and used colored pencils/odorless mineral spirits to color various parts in. I added Stickles to the cap brim and puff. The snowflake is just a misc. one I have around for filling in those space voids on cards! I used some Stickles on some of the flakes too. The ribbon I used is some I got in a hostess thank you from a swap along the way. The Merry Christmas is a UM I got when I first started stamping and I am sorry I don't know who is it made by - I need a better cataloging system to kee track of all that. I made a couple of these but the penguin was my favorite!

Here is another one I made with the Inque Boutique Holiday Spotlight Collection Burst of Christmas stamp set (#50814)

The other one here I made with an Anita's Stamp that has the trio of presents on it. The word Christmas is again from the Burst of Christmas set mentioned above.

Polished Stone

I made these fun Polished Stone atc's for a swap last month and love looking at the balance of the backgrounds I have here so I figured I would share the beauty with you all too :). I stamped on them with my Noir Palette Ink a partial impression of the flower (Flowers & Elements FAE3-06) which is a set I tend to pick up and use quite often! The set takes up 3 whole cd cases and I love them all! Anyway I made the various polished stone backgrounds then cut them to 2 1/4" x 3 1/4", stamped the image on, added a small sentiment in one corner and then added various do-dads from my stash to the opposing corners or some a small spiral clip along the one side. I then mounted them onto pink or burgundy cs to make them the correct size for atc's 2 1/2" x 3 1/2" .

Mystery Image for October

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and the Mystery image for a swap I happened to be in was this ribbon. I thought it was a perfect victory ribbon but figured everyone else would make it the traditional blue that you get from various activities so what could I do different?

Why not claim a victory over something that is so devastating to many. I colored the ribbon by smushing my Brilliance Pearlescent Orchid Ink Pad onto it and then cut it out. I used some Crayola pink glitter glue I had to highlight the inside ring of the ribbon and then I hand wrote "I won!" in the center. I decided that I didn't want it to be a card that got left sitting around but rather something a person could take with them or leave somewhere for others to find :) I made it a bookmark by mounting it on some black cs that I cut and rounded the corners of and then mounted on pink cs. I then punched a hole near the top and added some funky pink fiber I have had for who knows how long but that was big and fluffy and made me think happy thoughts! (and yes I did leave some laying around the library to be "found")

I have been asked am I a survivor by some people who I gave this too and no I have not had breast cancer nor do I currently have it that I am aware of but yes it has touched my family and a friend so I do try to give time, crafts or offer help to raise money to help to find a cure for this disease.

Simple Snowman

Today I shopped a little for some Christmas odd's and ends I needed and as I sit here and listen to TSO waiting for some Stickles to dry I thought I would share a cute little snowman ATC I made last month. Yep I know I am way behind on shares - part of my problem is I have difficulty with my camera and getting it to download properly so I tend to take my pictures in bulk and then to upload them in bulk to share when I can..guess I need to work on that. Anyway I love this little guy and I was again playing with my "other" colored pencils trying to figure out the correct way to color with Odorless Mineral Spirits and a blending stump...I think he is pretty darn cute! He is from an old retired TAC set and of course I used my Noir Black Palette Ink to stamp him and then simply colored him in , punched out a circle around him and then mounted him on some maroon cs which I then mounted onto white cs that I had distressed the edges of with my Noir Black Palette Ink also. Ok so back to my project which I will try to share later...another day :)

Another Triple Flower Card

When I stamped those Magenta flowers with the Palette Inks I made several impressions of them so I could use them for various cards. Here I cut three of the tops of them out and to add some depth I mounted them on top of the actual image with Pop Dots. I used the Stickles Star Dust (I need more of this!)here again too for some sparkle and shimmer! I ran the top half of my white card stock through my Cuttlebug using the Thank You A2 Embossing folder. I then sponged some of the Violete Palette Ink around the flowers and a little heavier on the word THANKS itself to bring it out more. I added some sheer pink ribbon at the top and knotted a small bit to glue dot on top of the wrapped piece of ribbon. I used this for a one on one swap that had a thanks theme. I hope the recipient enjoys it as much as I enjoyed making it!

Prisma Color Pencils

So I stopped at my PO Box today to pick up my mail and the Prisma Color Pencils I scored a good deal on have finally arrived! I promptly came home and opened them up to play with. I almost cried when I realized I bought WATERCOLOR ones. I figured they wouldn't work with the Odorless Mineral Spirits which was the whole reason I wanted them as the Crayola's just weren't cutting it. Well what have I got to lose...I try them anyway...OMGosh they color like a dream and they looked fantastic! Gave that perfect shading from outer to inner that I was going for. I only colored one picture tonight since I had a lot to do but I can't wait to do more with them. Yep I think I am glad my dh is going away this weekend, my dd has to work and I can color the whole weekend away!
Well DUH! I forgot to scan the card I made too, hopefully the person I am sending it to will scan it for me and I will add it here later... see what happens when you get to excited!

Quickie Triple Flower Card

I stamped my Magenta Triple Flower stamp twice on whit card stock once with a Violete Palette Ink and once with a Belle Rose Palette Ink

I then cut the flowers apart and mounted them on the base card stock. I applied Stickles Star Dust to them to make them sparkle a bit

The bottom "Just A Note" is a stamp from Rubber Stampede and simply stamped on white paper and torn for the rough edge look then affixed to the base card stock also.

A Star Danced

I found this saying stamp at the very first stamp convention I ever attended, I took a picture of it and have been searching for it ever since...yeah I know should of bought it there! Well I went to another stamp convention in mid October with a bunch of my online friends and it was there so I scooped it right up (stamp from Stamp La Jolla) and made this card for a friends birthday. I had this adorable scraps of star paper in brown and paired it with some pink background paper and then I found this cute striped brown paper too and thought it looked pretty cute. I stamped the saying on pink paper with my TAC Palette Ink and then used my border punch to add the decorative bottom edge. Used a scrap of pink sheer ribbon and tied the knot to the side. Hope you enjoy it too!
