Bookpage ATC

This was a fun ATC to make. I started with a page from an old book. It was so hard being a book lover to tear that page out let me tell you - I could never of done it to one I had loved and read :) Anyway this one had the cover torn off already so I am thinking it came from a used store or was a non seller so it made it a little - just a little easier.

Once the page was torn out I used a foam brush to sweep Gesso across the page, covering thicker in some areas than others. I let it dry for awhile. I then glued the page to a piece of heavier cardboard type base so it would lay nice and flat and be sturdy for people to look at if they felt so inclined! LOL

I added some flourish stamps to it - just random ones, stamping off the sides of the atc too. I then edged the atc with the same ink pad to give it a more finished look.

The picture I used was taken from Shorpy's site, a black and white picture taken by Fitz. W Guerin. I played with it in PSP and ended up using a filter on it to change the coloring some to an aged newspaper look. I erased some of the surrounding black to make it easier to cut her out after printing her. I printed her on white vellum and cut her out. Then using sticker adhesive I adhered her to the lower corner of the atc. I felt the opposing corner was a bit "nekkid" and used the Prima flower in a pale blue with a brown brad at the center to finish it off.

This really was a fun one for me and again a little out of my comfort zone in using vintage theme and very little stamping!

Enjoy!
