The tree with the presents!

I kept forgetting to put the picture up with the presents under it so here you are ...better late than never right?!?!?! LOL!

Stampers Quest Dec Sketch

This is my card from the Stampers Quest December Sketch challenge. I really liked the use of the triangles and patterned papers. I opted for one patterned paper and then a cuttlebugged paper...wait I mean a fiskars plate run through my Cuttlebug LOL! The ornament stamp was one I received in an image swap and I am not sure hwo makes it but I colored it with some of my Copic Markers and Metallic Sakura pens and then added some Liquid Applique to it to achieve the snowy look. I layered things onto black cardstock and then onto a blue card base (although it looks black here - sorry) Along the bottom under the ornament is a bit of silver ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon too! It was a part of the Holiday assortment she sent to the ribbon club in Novmeber. I can't wait to see what is in store for January - she took December off :)

Snowballs

Merry Christmas everyone!
Not a lick of snow to be seen here for Christmas but I am ok with that LOL!

Hope you are all having a wonderful day - just me and dh and we just finished a nice ham and scalloped potatoes for dinner. YUM-O!!!!

Card uses the cuttlebug folder, some Really Reasonable Ribbon and one of the stamps from the Be Naughty seet from FCD.

Enjoy!

A Christmas Wish

This is one of the first things I made after I got my new Slice! While I am still unsure about it I see a lot of potential but need to get a few quirks worked out yet also.

The holley is from a set from FCD and the ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon.
Hope the lady I sent it to enjoys it :) Was a little different type of Christmas Card as the inside was blank so I could write her a note.

Happy Holidays!

Wishing you all a wonderful Holiday!
This is a card made of leftovers and pieces parts LOL!
I added some puff stuff to Santa's suit which added a little dimension too! The present in the corner is a brad!

Have a great day everyone!

Snowman Card

Just a simple snowman card for today :) I think he is cute and it is a blustery day here not a lot of snow but very very windy! I would be all bundled up with a scarf and hat like him too if I had to be outside! LOL Stamp is from Qwikart.com

Christmas Tree Before :)

Here is our Christmas tree before we put any presents under it this year. My dd decided to go with a theme of white, silver and blue. This is a first for us to have a themed tree as we usually just put up whatever ornaments we have gathered over the years or those we have made...all the way back since I was a kid LOL! So yes the tree is generally quite crowded! We have paired down a lot this year and tossed some broken items, left several in the boxes and bought new in the theme colors as well as used the white angels which are mine from before (my SIL made them one year!) Anyway hope you enjoy it as much as we are! This is our first tree in a couple years and the house smells so wonderful! LOL

I'll share an after soon so you can see the craziness my dd indulged in this year with shopping!

Oh and yes we know we need a tree skirt but they didn't have any and we couldn't find our old one...going to have to keep an eye out for one for next year!

Faux Designer Paper

Well this was my first attempt at a new TJ technique called Faux Designer Paper - didn't exactly work right but I liked the background so made this card anyway :)

Today I made chocolates with my dd all day and I am tired so off to lay down and rest! Hope everyone else had a wonderful day also!

Spotlight

I don't know who the stamp is by but I was trying a spotlighting technique and I thought this was a fun image to play with. I colored with a combination of my Copic markers, Sakura Pens and Prisma Watercolor Pencils. I added some yummy ribbon and layered it up for a cute holiday card. This year I mailed only a few cards to people - no where near what we used to but each one was different and many are shared here on my blog and some yet to come. I sure hope the people who received them enjoyed them as much as I did making them!

Noel

Just a basic card I made with one of the stamped images from a swap I was in and then added layers and some ric rak. I love the black, white and green here! Made a pretty striking card! I did color the center of the word Noel with my Sakura metallic marker to add a little zip!

Clearly Time

I made this with my new Clearly Time set from FCD. I really like this set and the clock fits perfectly with my punch :)

I made the background by just random stamping the images onto the cs then using my inks to add some color with both sponges and brushes. I then layered things up and mounted them onto the base card. Along the side I added some Pure Bubbles and Bling stick ons. IRL this is more brown in color not sure why it has the purple cast to it in the picture.

Enjoy!

PCP Sketch Challenge 112908

Well I am late in posting here but I did make this card for the PCP sketch challenge on 11/29/08. I actually made 2 of them using the same stamps but different papers and colors but the other picture turned out too blurry! I seem to be having issue with that lately so will have to work on a better place to take the photo's and steadying my hand for the actual snap!
Anyway this was made using some scraps I got in a trade at Swap-Bot and images from an image swap there also. I added some colored bling to the side and walah! Snow Couple LOL!
Enjoy! Have a great day - it is grey and cold here today - I am praying the sun to peek out but I don't know if that will happen or not.

TSSC47

Mary-Jo has another awesome sketch up for this week over at Techno Stamper blog ! Here is my card made following it :)

The snowman is from the Chin Up set from FCD
I LOVE THIS SNOWMAN! LOL and I went with orange Copics and Orange Metallic Sakura pens for coloring him in. Layered on gold and white papers and added some really glittery gold ribbon behind the layers! I was quite pleased with this card!

Snowman Chipboard

I had made this chipboard earlier and then what I was going to do with it wasn't working out so I turned it into a card :) I added a strip of red to the side and then some ribbon clinched together with brads and there you go another holiday card completed!
Enjoy!

MOJO64

Here is my sample of the MOJO64 Sketch this week. I got this new set from FCD called Clearly Time and I really like it! I stamped multiple stamps from the set and then crinkled it up and smoothed out some to run my Distress Ink over it to give it an aged look. I used my Sakura pen to add the white dots both on the black and also in and around the flourishes on the multi-stamped piece.

Santa

This was s simple card I am trying to use up all the misc Christmas stamped images I have gathered over the years and he was in there :) Sorry I don't know who it is from/by so if you do let me know and I will update the info!

I cut around the Santa using my Slice and cut a mat for it also. I colored Santa using my Copic Markers and Saukura pens. Then I layered it onto green cs that I had cuttlebugged and swiped with my white inkpad. Added the ribbon across center before adhering it and then added a snip of ribbon to the santa panel itself using this green clippy thing I folded over to hold the ribbon.

Have a great day.

Techno Stamper Sketch #46

I made this for last weeks Techno Challenge and used the Luminere and reinkers to make the snowman piece that I learned at the show I went to in the fall. The effects are less instense as I used regular reinkers instead of Copic marker refills but I do like it! I will share with you one of these days LOL! Just have to get time to sit and photograph the technique.
The stamp is from FireCracker Designs by Pamela and she is also sponsoring the prize for Stamp Something this week! Check it out!

Snowman COTM

Jane's Addiction has a challenge up today and this is my entry for it. While I do focus on the true aspect of Christmas - Christ's Birth I also like to find the fun in the season and this whimsical duo of snowmen with their snowballs makes me {smile} I hope it does you also!

This is another of my non traditional color cards for the holidays and I enjoyed playing with the different tools to make it. Hope you enjoy it also!

Birthday Chic

I made this card for my SIL for her birthday. Sorry for the blur I thought I had a good pic only to get home and download it to the computer and find I didn't! Can't take another one since it is far far away from me now LOL!

I colored the chic with my Copic Markers and then layered it on a scalloped circle of basic Grey Paper. Added the flower pieces and some ribbon to finish the card off.

Inside it says "boy were we stupid or what!" LOL

Christmas ATC's

I was sending some swaps out on Swap-Bot and added these cute ATC's I made using my Christmas set from ISC (I won this one awhile back!)
I love the circles that are in it and am planning to make some holiday tags with it also to use for my gifts this year!

Christmas Train

I got this cool train image in one of the swaps I hosted over at Swap-Bot. I made this card for the sketch challenge at PCP last week and thought it was kinda cute - I remember my Grandpa used to set up a wonderful Christmas village at Christmas and we used to have a train too.
The stamp I belive is from Stampendous, ribbon from my December monthly club assortment and the sticker in the lower right was one of those $1 bargain things I picked up somewhere :) Patterned paper is from DCWV and I layered it with paper from the Paper Place (which is now no more - boohoo) I also used metallic rub on around the edges after running it through my large scalloped rectangle nestie!
Enjoy!
I should be back from NC either last night or today LOL so hope you enjoyed the things I set for auto posting while I was gone ...

Snowman Card

This is one of the snowmen I got in the grab bag I bought from Inky Antics at the local stamp show here...so many stamps so little time!
I used my Copic Markers to outline and add some depth to him. The star was colored in using my new Sakura Metallic pens that I had won from PCP. They really cover everything so I have to be a bit more careful with that but I liked the full and rich look it gives the stars on this one! The buttons also were done with the Silver Metallic and the nose with the Sakura Orange glaze pen. Pretty cool isn't it!

The snowman and the scalloped layer were cut with my Slice! and then layered on top of a piece of American Crafts ribbon which was layered on top of my cuttlebugged piece (again smeared the ink over the top! - easy to do and great highlighting effect!). I really like this card and it is in my stack for Christmas giving!

Birthday Gifts

Last week was my Mom's birthday and I took her to dinner and gave her this small gift I had made her. She loves snowman so I got a wooden letter for her name and added crackle paint all over it, stamped white snowflakes and embossed them and then added the Chin Up snowman from FCD. I colored him with Copic Markers but I forget which ones as I made him quite some time ago. At the top corner I added a snowflake brad and a bit of ribbon to finish it off. He has a hook thing on the back and she told me she was going to hang it on her cubicle at the entrance under her name plate LOL!

The card was made using shaving cream papers I had made a long while back and had in my scraps bucket. I ran the background piece through the cuttlebug and then swiped black ink across it to keep with the black and pink theme I had going. I added layers and finished it off with a flower from FCD and colored the flower in again with Copic Markers.

I enjoyed spending some time with my Mom!

Happy Thanksgiving Day!

Today I am spending time with my family and reflecting on things I am thankful for! I hope that you are also able to enjoy the holiday with those you love.

This card uses one of the Autumn pumpkins from ISC which I colored with my Copic Markers. The tag hanging off the rik rak from Really Reasonable Ribbon says Thanks. I ran the background half through my cuttlebug, swiped the ink pad acros it and then added a strip of paper from my Basic Grey Recess 6x6 pack.

Whatever you are doing today I am thankful for you- for taking the time to stop by and see what I have been up to!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

HB Penguin!

Hello everyone! I am off to visit some family so I have set some auto posts to go up while I am gone - I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving (US readers) and those who are outside the US well just have a great week anyway! he he!

This little cutie is going out to someone bearing Birthday greetings! I colored the hat and scarf and mittens with my new Sakura Glaze pen and then added some Fairy Dust to the mittens and hat! I had stamped it on some leftover Shaving Cream background paper I made a long time ago and had dug out earlier for another card. The beak I colored with my Copic Markers.

This is the finished card! I used my slice to cut out the penguin and a matching mat piece for it! I LOVE that Slice! so far and am "patiently" waiting for another disk to come so I have even more choices in what to cut with it! Anyway back to the card - I cuttlebugged the black mat piece with the snowflake design then ran my white versamark spot over it to get a snowey effect, while doing so it smeared onto the non snowflake part so I did it a little more to give it a blustery feel - or at least that was the intention :) I added a strip of ribbon and then mounted the penguin on top of it.

Hope the birthday recipient enjoys it!

Classic Christmas Tree

For this card I did some simple layering of colored papers Red, Green and white. On one red layer I ran it through my cuttlebug with the paisley A@ Embossing Folder and then swiped my ink pad across it to stamp out a bit more. Then on the top layer I stamped a Christmas tree from FCD using my Verssmark Ink and embossed with Ancient Gold Enchanted Gold Embossing Powder. It is really sparkly in RL and I love it! I added some gold tinted sheer ribbon that I had picked up at Pat Catan's. Pretty simple but very classic looking card I thought.

Holiday Penguins

I had some leftover purple paper and orange ribbon on the top of my desk and while I was pulling out my Christmas stamps to use I decided "who says Christmas cards have to be traditional colors!" so I whipped up these too cute penguins and added some purple and orange to them and some cuttlebugged snowflake background and walah! some holiday cards to use this year! LOL!

The penguins are from TAC and I colored the hat in using my new Sakura Glaze pens! They are wonderful! I won them over at PCP and boy and I glad I had taken some time out to enter the sketch contest there LOL! Anyway enough of that - if you haven't any glaze or metallic pens from Sakura you NEED some NOW! They are fantastical and you will be seeing more of them for sure on my stuff! I used my orange Copic Marker to dab onto his feet to give a bit more color too. Isn't this Penguin adorable!?!?!?!

Another Penguin

Ok yep I love them ... there I said it! This penguin from FCD is too cute! So versatile and can be used for so many types of cards! Want proof - scroll back to my post on Sat the 15th and follow the blog hop we had - if you don't get a brainful of ideas from that well then I think you better grab another cup of caffeine and try again LOL!

See the sparkle from his sweater top and hat brim. I added some Fairy Dust glitter from Stamp La Jolla to it :) I really like the effect it gives but still am not keen on wearing it myself which always seems to happen! LOL! You can also see in this above pic that I embossed the snowflakes onto the light blue paper to bring them out more.

This is the finished card! I used my cuttlebug to eboss a scrap of white, smeared (is that the technical term?) across the top of it and then layered some cool snowflake paper I found in my scrap bin to build the card. I added a couple of the silver stick on snowflakes I had left and there you go! Another cute penguin card to use!

Sharing more of my Birthday Cards

Some more of my SBS sisters sent me some birthday cards that I wanted to share with you all! My apologies for not acknowledging sooner but they have been hanging on my wall for me to look at LOL! The one above all sparkly and cute is from Julie. It is a square card and so pretty! I love the gold and how you used the cuttlebugged piece with it! Thank you!

Jenn R made me this adorbale stamper girl card! Love the added flowers and the tag on top! I think this is a fun card too with the cutout part for the girl to be in and the colors green & purple!
Thanks bunches Jenn!

And my Anna :) She sent me this yummy cake card and a box of goodies too! Some of the stamps are here with it. She used Liquid Applique on the frosting part - isn't it cool how it puffs up! Makes me want to swipe my fingers through it and go YUM! he he!

Thanks you all fo remembering me on my birthday!

Happy Thanksgiving

Wishing you all a Wonderful Thanksgiving! (yes a little early though LOL!)

I made this card for a friend and it was awfully hard to part with! Good when you get them like that but bad when you realize you really do have to part with it! LOL I had only the one small piece of doily to put the pumpkin on and it went perfectly with this scrap of paisley paper I found in my scrap bin. The ribbon with it's polka dots added a funky touch and the pumpkin set off the Fall Thanskgiving theme for the card! I made the sentiment and used the rectangle nestabilities to punch it out and then added some gun metal metallic rub on to the edges of it.

The pumpkin stamp is from Innovative Stamp Creations and I love her nature/floral stamps! They are truly lovely! I have some Christmas ones I will be playing with here shortly also and can't wait to share them with you all!

I am also entering this in the Stamp Something Thanksgiving challenge!

Tilda with Lantern

I made this card for a watercoloring swap I was in. I watercolored with my Prisam Pencils and then used my Copic markers to add the "box" area. I used an out of the box cutting technique to cut the Tilda image out then mounted her on this scrap of homemade paper I had. (Cool leaves and such in it!) then added some ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon to it to finish it off. Simple but pretty card. I added a bit of depth to it by using some pop dots to mount the Tilda image too! You can see it better in this shot below...

Chin Up

I stamped the scarf on patterned paper and then cut and mounted it on the snow man but I also added some Rain Dots to the circles to give it added dimension. I just really like this card!

This is another card I had made for my DT try out. This was the first stamp that turned me on to FireCracker Designs by Pamela and I have found SO many more that I love too since really scoping her site out LOL! Yeah I have a long wish list and she makes it nigh impossible to every fill completely as she turns out new stamp sets almost each month! LOL
I stamped the scarf on patterned paper and then cut and mounted it on the snow man but I also added some Rain Dots to the circles to give it added dimension. I just really like this card!
We have had a little dusting of snow here and there already and I imagine it won't be long before it is really falling down...I wish I liked it as much as this little guy seems too but alas he can enjoy the flakes all he wants I would prefer none :D

Thanks!

Well here I am again last minute with this before the new sketch goes up! Yeesh I need to set myself a schedule for things I do think...if only the muse would cooperate on a schedule!

Anyway this uses some new stamps from Seaside Stampin' Ink's Chix collection. I really liked this one with the bouquet of flowers and thought it would make a cute card using this weeks Techno Stamper Sketch #43.

I like this sketch and actually made a couple other cards with it but duh! I sent them out before making sure I had taken photo's of them :(

Hope you enjoy the card and thanks for stopping by!

Mahalo!

So often in pics you only get the "flat" version of things so here is the "un-flat" portion first!
he he
I made this as one of my entries for the DT try out for FireCracker Deisngs by Pamela and besides being thrilled when I got the "you're in" note I just love how this card turned out! The colors are warm ones which I love mixed with a little funky polka dot action and the brightness of a beach creeping into view with the flowers and leaves and Mahalo that I used! Ok well at least in my mind it is that way!
Here is the finished product :
