Birthday for a friend

I am still at my friend Anna's today, unfortunately I have to leave today which makes me sad! Her dh had a birthday last weekend and since I wasn't able to be there to give him his card I hand delivered it this weekend :) I will be the first to admit I am NOT real good at manly cards! I added the brown on here and used browns and greens but somehow I ended up with glittery gold EP too! Well no matter I am sure it is like they say - the thought that counts!

Thank You Moose

I received this image in an image swap recently and he looked pretty cool there hanging out with his pumpkins and juicy apples so I grabbed him up added the color using my copics and finished him off into a card. Someone just bought some of my stamps I have for sale (upper right of my blog is the link!) and I enclosed this thank you for her. I threaded the ribbon through a slit at the top and it layed down nicely so the card still closed well.

Tree Mingle

I wanted to play a bit with my new make-up ... errrrr I mean ink-up sponges :) So I stamped this cool Tim Holtz {COMPONENTS} Collection stamp from stampers anonymous that I had found hiding in my one of my iris cart drawers and then went to town with the ink-up sponges!
Did a bit of layering and added some Tim Holtz idea-ology game spinners to act as clock hands and that was about it! Used this for a mingle that is held on Stampers Corner list each week.

One of the groups I am on has a lottery for ATC's and also cards and I decided to play with my new Chocolate stamp from my SS since the theme matched :) I used Memento ink to stamp the guy and the words, Copic markers to color him and an Amuse oval to stamp under the chair with Palette Ink. I also used my white Gelly Roll pen to color his coat in. Make him official looking - you know :) It is intentionally a little "wonky" on the layering too - I figured you have to be wonky to see a Dr. about a chocolate addiction...he he he

Sheetload Mini September

I made the Sheetload mini for a Colors of Autumn swap. I love this stamp it is from TAC called Scotty. He is so delightful and fun! I am not quite ready to give up my flowers though so these fall colored ones worked for me :) I added falling leaves too it using the leaf from the stamp set also. Sheetload has a monthly contest and you can still enter if you'd like.

HUGE Candy Alert!

Cammie is having a HUGE HUGE blog candy giveaway, in stampers fashion her good dead kept rolling and rolling and picked up so much momentum that it has become the biggest giveaway I have ever seen! There is a catch order to have a chance to "get" you have to "give." Her cause is Alzheimer's, which if anyone of you read a previous post I made to my personal blog know also affects my family. What Cammie has done is so AWESOME and I am just glad to be a participant in the fight!

Above is my "give" portion of the Blog Candy and I am sending it to the place that my Grandma goes to when her primary care taker needs a rest or is going out of town. The people who work day in and day out with patients who have Alzheimer's are amazing, their patience is to be commended and I am glad to have the little kick from Cammie to say thank you again to each and every one of them!

Thanks Cammie for the little push and for getting the ball rolling on a wonderful opportunity to say thank you to those who deserve it!

Stamps used on my card are all FireCracker Designs by Pamela, paper is from DCWV and Hollo's and inks used were Palette.

Top Banana Challenge 12

Used patterned paper to complete this sketch. Added some copper brads and a stamped sentiment. Not real thrilled with this one it is needing something but what?!?!?!
Let me see what you can do with this sketch...
scoot over to Anna's weekly sketch challenge and give it a try too!

Owl - Thank You

The owl is a new stamp from FireCracker Designs by Pamela I went with a white one this time :) I cut it out with my oval nesties and used a sponge to do the yellow, different colors and blending. (Needs more practice LOL!) The thank you is a misc stamp I have from way back when I first started stamping, not sure who the maker is. Added the brads along the corner and some fun polka dotted ribbon.

Mojo 53

Well my Mojo finally started working again only a bit late to really participate in this one LOL! I still liked the layout and wanted to use it though so I combined it with the challenge to emboss using 2 different patterns that a friend kept after me about :) I think they turned out pretty well and hey...some even have 3 different embossings! he he

So this was MOJO53 but I am too late so now on to the next one :)

I didn't have blue ribbon to match so used my Copics to color some white sheer ribbon to match! Love those Copics they come in super handy!

Hope you enjoy.

Birthday Train

I did some private image swaps on Swap-Bot to help get some of them started with ratings so they can play in most any swap then without issue. This was one of the images I received in the swap - I like how the train is coming head on at you. I added some Crystal Lacquer to the light on the front other than that I only drug my ink pad around and across it some to "muck" it up LOL! The happy birthday is a rub on and the rest is just torn paper that I edged with the ink pad. Pretty easy card - hoping it will be a good "guy" birthday card.

Scrapping Recipe #15

{tamara} has Scrapping Recipes in addition to her sketches..this week I combined her recipe with a sketch for another card swap I am in. This was the result!

I couldn't find green brads so I made my own by dabbing white ones onto my Palette Landscape pad which I had also used to sponge onto the paper edges, I then dipped them into clear EP heated and redipped to put a slight glaze on the top. They look kinda tye dyed-pretty cool huh?!

The face stamp is called Nicole and is from © Heart Art Studios, Inc.

The sentiment finishes inside and says "beauty is a light in the heart" it is from one of the new sets ( Forgive Me) from FireCracker Designs by Pamela.

thanks for stopping by today :)

Blog Candy!

My new Friend Amaryllis is a CTMH rep and she is offering some really cool blog candy over on her blog for National Stamping Month! She also has a special sale she is offering for those who wish to place an order! Good luck!

September Sketch - Stampers Quest

Stampers Quest has a monthly sketch that they put up and I decided to use some Halloween paper I came across while digging in my scraps to make this card following it.

I am not really into Halloween - but these little bats and ghosts on the paper were fun so I thought it would be a little whimsical to put together for the season.

The next picture shows the embossing from my Cuttlebug using the nesties :) I don't play with them often but I do like the look it gives! I have ordered one more set - rectangles so looking forward to playing with them some too!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Card Sketch 61 {tamara}

I had a chance to play a little today so am trying to get through my sketches I saved in my emails :)

This one is from {tamara} it is her week 61 sketch. I went through my scraps pile to get some that went relatively well together an I happened upon these 3 brown & pink based ones that all had a little glittery aspect to them as well! I even used scraps of it to cut the flowers with my Cuttlebug and then adhered them and topped them with Raindots for their centers! LOL! The ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon of course and the stamp is unknown - it was given to me when I first started stamping and unfortunately isn't marked with the maker info.

Thanks for looking!

Happy Anniversary

Tomorrow is my parents 40th Anniversary! That is quite an accomplishment and we are helping them celebrate tomorrow so I thought I ought to get in gear and get a card made! I went off the Mojo52 Sketch and this is what came about :) The papers I used are Dream Street Papers Kelly Shults Designs - Kayla is the floral one and Corey is the stripes.

I layerd with some faux leather paper I had and also some cream colored cs. The flowers were white prima's that I colored with Copics to blend a little better, I couldn't match the blues up perfect but I like the effect they give! The chipboard was from CTMH and I also used my Copic marker to color it brown to match the card. I ran some of my ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon through there and it was too thick to tie a bow that would lay nice so I trimmed it and wrapped it then tied the bow and adhered it to the top with some redline tape. I don't know if you can really see it here in the pic but I used a black Slickwriter to add the #40 to the chipboard. Inside I used a piece of the cream paper edged with my Palette ink and stamped another sentiment tht says "You share a love the whole room can feel."
