Happy Halloween

Three times I have started to type this post only to realize I can't recall who made this stamp so I set it aside to do later. Now darn it is Halloween and I still didn't make it to my crafting area to check on soooooooo Happy Halloweenie without knowing the info LOL!
I colored this cute little girl in with my Copic Markers. I am learning go easy on the black as it really is BLACK and blocks everything else out LOL!

and of course it is Halloween so we need a little creepy crawler right? But isn't he cute? I stamped and embossed him on black paper with clear embossing powder. Then popped him onto a flaxy wax string I mean web strand :)

TaDa end result! I thought this was a cute but not cutsie Halloween card and I had sent it to my SS for last month but somewhere along the way a postal employee is enjoying it I hope as it hasn't made it to my SS yet and I am bummed cause there was a treat inside for her too!

Go Banana's Sketch 17

This is Anna's Go Banana's Sketch for the week - I kept looking at the sketch and wondering what to do for the longest time then I realized I was looking at it sorta backwards LOL, like seeing the negative of it :) he he

I used my Spica Glitter pens to color it in and then edged the paper with my Palette Ink Pad. Used the white gel pen to add faux stitching and dots on the outside of the scallops. Enjoy!

Mahalo!

I made this as part of my DT try out for FireCracker Deisgns by Pamela and am finally getting around to sharing it with you all now! I really like this stamp set and since it is that icky snow rain mix here in blustery Ohio today I am finding I much prefer thinking of the beach and the palm trees swaying in the breeze :)

Dinky Dots DT-2

Another DT entry for Dinky Dots from their Dinky Dots Den Challenge!

I couldn't leave this alone last night so even though I was feeling blah I grabbed my Copics and started coloring :) I love little notepads to keep track of my swaps and while at a friends I recently saw she used them too to track her sketches so I figured a cute little Halloween sketch book was in order :) I altered the front of this notebook with orange paper and added some yummy Really Reasonable Ribbon to it. Then made a moon and added Lulu to the front! This is the largest of the images you get on the print out from Dinky Dots and I really like this size - it is big and bold! I don't know if you can really see it but the purple ribbon on the hat and the cape are colored over with my Spica Glitter pen - it is so hard to capture sparkle with the camera!

Thanks for stopping by and if you can take a minute to vote for my dd's pictures we would appreciate it :) It is the post at the top of my blog, if you came direct to this post just hit the banner and it will take you there also!

Dinky Dots DT Card

Dinky Dots Den is holding it's first challenge and also happens to be a DT call so I bought some of the down loadable designs and made this card from the smallest of the 3 images you get on the sheet. I used Peerless Watercolors to color the cute little witch in and then used my Palette Ink Pad to edge the paper. I layered purple on black and then mounted onto orange cs (DCWV.) The bow is from my Halloween package from the monthly ribbon club at really Reasonable Ribbon.

Tree of Life?

I made this card for my Secret Sister for my groups Fall/Halloween swap. I love this stamp from TAC and it reminds me of the tree of life with it's giant branches stretching out. Used some Prima Flowers, a little rick rack and a cute golden lady bug charm to finish it off.

thanks for stopping by :)

Sketches! {by tamara} #67

I really liked the sketch that {tamara} had this week - and here is my take on it!
The leaves were from the set I won from Christina's contest and I cut them and then tapped my ink pads direectly on top to get the various colors. I edged the papers with my Palette Cognac ink. Added some layers and some brads to the top and there you have it! I am not home and can't recall the maker of the saying stamp sorry. The patterned paper was some I had in my scrap basket. I am almost out of this one and I like the color for fall cards!

Stampers Quest Monthly Sketch

Stampers Quest is a great online resource for a wealth of ideas! This is my go for the Monthly Sketch that they have. If you have some time hop over and check out all the neat goodies there.

I found this cute guy in the grab bag that I bought from Inky Antics at the Stamp Show earlier this month so I gave him a good inking up and walah! LOL!

Stamped with memento ink and colored with Copic markers. Used scraps found in my stash and then some ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon to finish it off. I snipped the backs from the snowflake brads and used glue dots to adhere them since I didn't want prongs poking through the back of the card front. Oh yeah and I glittered the star - I am trying Anna! :D

Rubbahhhhhhhhhhh

My prize from winning the ISC blog challenge a few weeks back :)
I already have the glue drying on the back (Aileen's) and will be cutting them up soon! WeeeHawwwww!

Not Forgotten

This card was made using the Camoflage technique from the current TJ newsletter. I liked how this one turned out :) It is also a sketch card for a swap I am in so it is finding it's way to my partner right now. I hope the postal service doesn't "forget" about it somewhere along the way!

Go Banana's Sketch 16

This is Anna's Go Banana's Sketch for Week 16! Wow I can't believe that many weeks have flown by already! I played with my new nesties for the first time and I am not so sure about them. These are the 2 smallest ones and they pretty much fill up the card! I am not sure what I will do or even if I will use the others! The image was from my stamped images stash so I apologize I don't know who it is from, colored it with my Copic Markers. I edged the pieces with my meatallic rub-ons. The words and swirly are froma sticker frebie with some magazine thing that came in the mail. Enjoy! Hope you have fun with this sketch too!

Blog Candy Alert

Over at Bunny-Zoe's Blog there is candy and you can help by sharing the icon on the top right and spreading awareness too!

Sketches! {by tamara} #66

Well now that it is time for another sketch from {tamara} I am finally getting this one up - dang dead batteries on the camera! Anyway I liked how this one turned out simple and fun - great for a note to a friend or just to send some cheer!

This is the bandanna technique from TJ newsletter. Also used rick rack from Really Reasonable Ribbon. Get happy stamp is from FireCracker Designs by Pamela.

Techno Stamper Sketch 40

For my try at this fantastic Lunchtime Monday sketch from Techno Stamper
I reworked a previous card into this sketch cause well I just wasn't that thrilled with the other one LOL! Stamp is from FireCracker Designs by Pamela, colored with my Prisma Watercolor Pencils and then added some glitter over the star. The background is run through the Cuttlebug and added some hand drawn lines to resemble a bit of faux stitching and added the yummy polka dotted ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon!

If you have some time to blog hop scoot over to Techno Stamper and see what everyone else has done with this sketch there are some AMAZING cards!

Blog Candy Alert

One of my fellow FireCracker Designs by Pamela DT team members is having a unique blog candy contest so step on over to Sherri's to see what she has up her sleeve :)

New Thing Learned...

when I went to the local stamp show I learned how to make these cool shimmery pieces to add to my cards and I came home with a couple to play with plus made some of my own! This one I cut the medallion out and made into a card with some great purple polka dotted ribbon and a funky background paper scrap I found. I really liked this card it again is shimmery but hard to get that reflected in the picture. You use Luminere for this and I am working on putting a tutorial together for it to share with you all!

Gift Card Holders

The holiday's are fast approaching and I have to admit I do the gift card thing for some of my family and friends that we exchange with so I need holders for them. I can't get over how cute this tree is from FireCracker Designs by Pamela so I grabbed it and some red pre-cut papers I had, folded them leaving a little lip on them to hold and made these 2 cute gift card holders. I colored the tree using my SU blender pen and dabbing it onto my Palette inks. Then I added some sparkle to the red bulbs with my Spica Clear Gittler Pen and the star at the top was stamped with my Palette Glue pad and then sprinkled with Fairy Dust glitter. It looks really nice in person but it is hard to capture the glitteryness (is that a word?) in a picture.

Christmas Shaker

let me start right of with the truth here...I am NOT keen on shaker cards - I have such a hard time with them so I rarely do one. For some reason I got into my head that this great Christmas set from FireCracker Designs by Pamela would make a great shaker with it's tiny ornaments. So I grabbed my shrinky paper and stamped them, dabbed on some color with my Copics and set to shrinky dinking away! I then tried to set the shaker up and well it was a challenege as usual and I muttered the entire time LOL! But this was what I ended up with and I have to admit it shakes pretty darn well!

LOL I highly let me repeat for you I WILL NOT be making more of these but this one is fun none the less!

Mojo56

Poetic Artistry has a sketch that is also a contest and here is my entry for it :)
I made the background under the quote using my ISC stamps and then dabbing ink on with sponges. It was really bold and I wanted it to show but then I found this quote and it just went perfect with it so I laid the vellum quote over the top.

This is also my Fall/Autumn themed project for my SBS24 challenge this week :)

Enjoy!

Decorate the tree

I am just loving this "charlie brown" tree in the latest set I got from FireCracker Designs by Pamela but I thought you might like to know that there is an adorable snowman in the set too LOL! So here is the snowman decorating the tree :) I stamped with my Palette ink onto a coaster board and then added color with my water color Prisma's, using my SU blender pen to spread it around some! I also added some stickles to the stars to give them some shimmer.

This is a fun set and I will be using it for some of my Christmas cards this year!

Peeled Tape Card

This is anothe rof the peeled tape background cards I made. this time I stamped my swans and reeds on first, added my setting sun with stipple brushes and then did the peeled tape technique to add the water and sky. Obviously I got overlap into the swaps since the tape wasn't able to be manuevered around it easily LOL but I liked the effect it gave and adding various colors added more depth to the water also. I liked how this one turned out.
All stamps are from FireCracker Designs by Pamela.
Inks used are all Palette Inks

Saw a Friend today!

I decided very much at the last minute to go to the Adventures in Stamping show
in Ohio today. (Hey Juanita - don't be mad!) It wasn't that far a drive for me,
it was sunny out and I thought perhaps I might see a friend or two I haven't in awhile
and I was right :) and I am glad I went!

This is a picture of Damien and I. He used to demo at an LSS near me but then got a job working for Gary Burlin's and now he doesn't have time for that anymore so if I want to see what cool things he is up to I have to catch him at the shows! I have no idea what he calls the technique he was showing today but it is a lot of fun! Messy - typical Damien style! He was using a cool Tim Holtz stamp that I also have thanks to him having talked me into it at the last show so...YEP I had to get the stuff to make sure I could do it at home too. Although I did improvise a bit subbing different re-inkers than what he was demoing. I have 2 samples of my own drying so they will be shared later this week after I get them finished. I will also share the how to's as I did it so I am not infringing on anyone's ©.

I also want to shout out to the other ladies a HUGE HELLO!!!! I miss the local stamp group too and I think a reunion night would be great so if you are in NE Ohio near Lorain or Medina County area and want to stamp - get ahold of me!

I really didn't buy to awful much just the few things I "needed!"

Hope you all have a wonderful Saturday it is gorgeous here and I am headed out to something with my daughter later so am trying to enjoy the sun and warmth now !

QUICK Blog Candy Alert

Quick as you can hop over to Stamps, Paper, Scissors and Donkey Smiles for some too cute blog candy! She is celebrating and offering a fantastic package but it ends tonight - pretty soon so run run run .............

Go Banana's 14

I used my newest stamp from FireCracker Designs by Pamela for this cute pocket card Anna challenged us with this week. This card is a larger one than I typically make and to be honest it still wasn't large enough LOL I had to lay the cocoa down instead of put it in the pocket :) Or maybe I just have to much CHOCOLATE in my hot cocoa he he! Anyway check out Anna's sketch for this week and give it a try! Also check out her guest designer's first appearance! Fantastic work isn't it!

I won! WooHoo!

I really enjoy using my stamps from ISC and I try to enter her blog challenges when I can. Well a couple weeks back I entered one and I was lucky enough to be drawn for the winner, you can check the ICS blog post out here. You can see my card either through their link or by clicking here too! I "talked" to Betsy the other day and gave her my stamp choices and now am anxiously awaiting their arrival so I can play with them! If you haven't ordered from ISC yet I encourage you to as she has some lovely nature stamps (and other things too) that make beautiful cards!

Thank you everyone!

WOW is all I can say :)

Saturday for WCMD the DT team for FCD did a blog hop and I just popped over to Pamela's to find out who won the candy and leave my congrats to them. I decided to read the comments left to see what people had to say - great way to get ideas is to hear what your peers liked you know! Well there were some very nice comments left about things I worked on too and that made me feel good tonight. Been having a rough week and the cheering up was much appreciated! I think all the DT team did a fabulous job and I learned several new tricks to try when I need to get that "pop" factor for a card. I just hope I can remember them LOL!

A big congratulations to Becky who won the candy for that hop too! You can read her post here in Pamela's announcement!

Again thank you all for the uplift today I really needed it!

Sketches {by tamara} # 63

Nothing like playing catch up LOL!
It sure leaves an abundance of sketches for me to look to for inspiration :)

Here is one sketch I really liked and has lots of possibilities that {tamara} had up.

I colored the wishing well with my Copic Markers and inside it says Make a Wish. This is going out as a birthday card to someone :)

Those flourishes are from Queen Cat Designs - I had a hard time with them when I first bought them not getting a good impression, today I had no problem - go figure! Either I have learned more or they are just cooperating today...I think I'll go with the I have learned more theory!

MOJO54

I am still playing catch up I am about ready to wipe the slate clean and just start where it is current - I feel like I am not getting much accomplished LOL!

This was Mojo54 sketch and I used some blue paper with cream and also some patterned DCWV paper. I liked the purple and blue together but I think a darker cream might of worked better.

Anyways I am still stamping and trying to get back into the groove :)

Christmas Ornament

Good morning everyone - today I am sharing with you not a card but an ornament I made. This showcases a fun Charlie Brown tree from one of FCD's sets and also fits my SBS24 challenge today of a non card item made with stamping/paper.

The tree from FireCracker Designs by Pamela is stamped on acetate as well as the ornaments with Staz-On ink. Then I dabbed with my Copic markers to add color. I rolled the acetate tightly and inserted it into the ornament. Then I added some "snow."

I had a set of 3 ornaments and was going to give them as a gift for Christmas but as soon as I was finished with this one I hung it ona peg in my work room and "CRASH" it dropped from the peg and shattered into a gazillion pieces :( Made me cry!
