Nina's Sketch Challenge

This is the card I entered in Nina's Sketch Challenge. I waited to post it until after a winner was chosen.

Supplies I used:
Palette Cognac & Noir Inks
Stampes from Innovativestampcreations.com Oriental Natures Elements
Stamps from TAC Friends LE T-2591
Hollo's Ppaer
Really Reasonable Ribbon Ric Rack
Paper from my scrap pile and Base card Hollo's card stock.

This was a fun layering card and I so enjoy stamping on patterned paper! The butterfly was stamped on the pattern paper then cut out and his wings are slightly raised with foam tape to give some more depth to it. The pieces parts are matted and then placed tipsy turvey (is that a valid description? LOL) on the layered piece across the center of the card base. I used ric rack along the top and bottom and the tag is from my cuttlebug set :) Love those mini tags!

I love this card and in fact haven't parted with it yet but rather hung it on my display board in my craft room

Oh and yep I won the contest LOL! Thanks to all who voted for me!

Sketch 116

This card was made following one of the sketches that is on SC. I love to save the ones sent through and go back through for inspiration once in awhile!

I used CTMH sets Nature's Brushstroke (A1065) and Comforting Thoughts (C1088).

Palette Inks in Violet & Bordeaux

Karen Foster Design Verbena Floral # 60187 Paper

Hollo's Paper for the tan paper and then some misc. brads I have on hand.

This was an easy to put together card and I like how the panel is cut into three sections and then an overlapping complimentary color is laid across the opposite way.

thanks for looking!

Oil Pastel Gesso Take Two!

Another of the Oil Pastel Gesso Backgrounds I made. This card was for a homepage contest. I stamped Happy Easter on vellum and then used my scalloped punch on it but I wasn't too sure about that it kinda looks odd on the top of the OPG background.

hmmmmmmm

I also used some bling in the one corner and my new corner die cut stuff on the others LOL! I like those corners and will have to play with them some to get them looking nice!

I wish you all a blessed Easter.................

9x13 Envelope full of Fiber offered

EDITED - FIBER IS TAKEN :) THANKS EVERYONE!

I am not so into fiber but seem to have acquired a ton of it LOL! So I have a fully stuffed 9x13 envelope of the stuff that I would love to part with :)

I am asking $5 which includes the shipping to you also. I did a ribbon one yesterday and it was $2.50 to send so I am guessing th fiber is about the same :)

Please leave me an comment where I can get in touch with you or please email me privately with your shipping info and how you wish to pay!

Thanks so much!

Happy Easter

Wishing you all a happy and wonderful Easter! It is coming early this year - are you ready are all your eggs colored? the baskets ready? Not me LOL! No egg coloring this year and wasn't planning to do any baskets until my daughter made the sad face last night when she asked if she needed to get the baskets out for me and I had said no...now I will be off to shop I think tomorrow or Sat to put something together for her. I had bought her a pair of shoes which we are having to send back as they are too big! and a new camera she is getting but NOOOOOOOOOOOOO she still wants an Easter basket ...YEESH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

anywhooooooo onto the card...

This was made using the Oil Pastel Gesso's technique from TJ newsletter. This is a fun and easy technique save for the sanding - something about sand paper - love the look it gives but I hate that scraping sound LOL!

I liked how the little bunny has the negative space and allows the background to come through on the bow too - neat effect and one I wasn't planning but simply noticed afterwords.

I thought the one corner looked a little naked so I added the prima with a brad which finished it off quite nicely!.

Thanks for looking!

SOLD!!!!!!!!!!!!! FOR SALE

**All items are spoken for at this time - watch for more to come :)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ok been cleaning and while a lot will be going on ebay (some already there search user ID *kc) I have some things here someone might be interested in.
A package of White 5 x 7 cards with envelopes. This is a new unopened package. I am guessing there are 50 in the pack but I could be wrong :) The cards are pre-scored at the center to fold easy. These are blanks you would decorate and so on.
A package of Cream (manila) 5 x 7 cards with envelopes. Now this one is open no plastic wrap here - I am not sure how may are left but still a lot.
LePlume II Marker sets. These are made by Marvy Uchida. These are water based Acid Free, Non Toxic with Extra Fine and Brush Points on each one.
I have the Pastel set which contains 12 markers
A Fall Color set - sorry there is a bar code sticker over the name :( it also has 12 markers
and a Primary Set which has 6 markers.
The Markers are USED but still in good condition I have just switched to the Copic which are alcohol based instead of water. They work great for watercolor look on rubber stamps and also for coloring in. You can use the fine point for hand lettering or detail work. I really like them just no place for 2 sets. They are also in snap close plastic cases so they don't get lost in a drawer or roll around all over :)
The sale sticker is still on the larger marker packs and I paid $13.50 for each of them. I have no idea about the smaller set. No idea on the cards either...I would like $13.50 for ALL the markers and $4.00 for ALL the card blanks This doesn't include shipping but I can do actual shipping to you or a priority envelope.
Let me know if anyone is interested. I need to get his stuff out of here so they can get this floor fixed!
Ebay Auctions
Well due to the water/floor buckling mishap in my craft room I have been cleaning and sorting so I have decided to list things on e-Bay. Today I added several cross stitch, needlepoint, crafts and even a book of transfers! Please check them out here Karyn's Auctions.
I would appreciate the support - everything has low starting prices! If you don't do this particular craft please pass the info along to a friend that does - they are awesome books and patterns and what not I just haven't cross stitched in a long while and have a hard time do to some issues with my hand so any help in finding these items new homes is appreciated!
thanks so much!
Wedding Card
This card is very light in color and I had a hard time scanning it but wanted to share since I don't do too many wedding cards :D
I used white and then very light blue and then a wallpaper sample on top! The ribbon with the looped edges and a tiny silver heart charm. The wording is a rub on - so yep a super simple card but it fit the theme and I liked how it turned out!
IRL the wallpaper has a fun shimmer on it too so it looks much nicer!
I am having a disaster in my stamp room at the moment that means I had/have to pack it all up and move it out for a bit so not sure how much I will get to craft in the next little bit :( Let's all pray I don't go crazy! LOL!
Birthday Card
Since I have my own Yahoo list I try to send birthday cards to the all the members when it is their special day. This is one of the cards I made recently for one of them. I love textured paper and this car uses 2 different, well 3 if you count the white and card base LOL! The green has a bit of texture to it and the small pink triangle piece is home made paper that is really bumpy and thick! I love it but sadly this was the end of it :(
The saying is another from my stamped images stash so i apologize I don't know who makes it - I do love it though so if you know please share I would like to get it! I used my Copic G000 Marker to line around the words "Wonderful Birthday" on it to give it a little ooomph!
The little gift that I colored then put a layer of 3D Crystal Lacquer on, let dry over night then smeared (yes smeared!) some Stickles on top of is also another from the image stash. It might of been one stamp of 3 gifts but I have been cutting them apart and parceling them out to make them last...only 1 more left LOL!
I distressed the edges of the papers before layering them with my Palette Burnt Umber ink pad. And as a finishing touch I added the 3 pale pink Dew Drops to the lower left of the card.
Hope the recipient enjoyed the card!
Thank You
I needed a quick Thank You card for the Balloon Man who came in the HUGE ICE STORM to deliver my daughter's birthday balloons!
He is a family friend who just happens to also own the balloon shop too! This is also the father who lost his son in a car accident awhile back - some of you may remember it pretty much devastated our town as everyone knows everyone and well...anyway our kids were always close and his son would of been 18 today so we often had lots of birthday parties this time of year!
Anyway I was surprised when he said he would bring them over - I mean it was a huge snow/ice storm and EVERYTHING was closed I did not even go to work!
Paper is all from Hollo's with the patterned paper from the Basic Grey Recess 6x6 Paper Pad I have. The mini buttons are from dwindling supply I have on hand! LOL :)
The Thank You is from TAC and I stamped it on the blue paper with Versmark and then used clear embossing powder on it to make it pop!
That was is simple and easy but I really like how it was bold colored.
Snail Birthday
My friend Howdie is having a birthday!
I sent her this cute little snail atc since she loves atc's so much! I used patterned paper for the background, cut out the snail stamped image I had in a stash I accumulated along the way and then I 3D layered the SMILE stamp that also came from the image stash (I think it came from a friend in NY though.)
I added an bright blue button and then a tail with my Slick Write to look like a balloon."it's your birthday" is from the TAC Oh Yeah set which I stamped with my Palette Noir ink.
The snail and the smile piece are colored with my Copic markers also.
I hope she had a wonderful birthday!
Bill's Sketch Challenge #1
I was reading my friend Anna Banana's blog and saw she did a sketch challenge so I went to check out what it was all about :)
I decided to give it a go so here is my entry for the sketch challenge that Dawn's husband drew.
I used my Innovative Stamp Creations Oriental Nature Elements set again I love that set! Stamped on white paper from Hollo's the floral image with my Palette Noir ink and then used my Copic markers to color them in. I really do love the shading I am able to achieve with them...just think if I knew what I was doing! LOL
The pink paper is also from Hollo's as is the light green background paper - don't know why is scanned almost white and I couldn't get it right in PSP either so gave up and you can just wish I was sending it to you so you could see it IRL.
I added a bit of ribbon on the lower left corner to fill the void a little. I just couldn't leave it blank LOL! My focal image also overlaps the strip at the bottom, I couldn't make myself cut the flower stems to shorten it up - sorry!
So you can check the original sketch here:
http://mama2fellas.blogspot.com/2008/02/bills-sketch-challenge-1.html
Let me know how I did LOL!
No Limit's Card
I made this for a one on one swap. We had to have multiple layers on the card. It was also a sketch I saw somewhere :) Nothing like checking 2 things at once off my TO DO list that seems to grow and grow!
I used my DCWV patterned paper Pocket Full of Posies and some white and pink paper from Hollo's. I stamped the trellis (idk who makes this stamp does anyone know? it is clear one with several other neat stamps in the set too!) with my Pallete Noir inkpad and then used my Copic markers R11, R22, E31, E11 and G00 to color the image in and add the border around it. See I colored the inside of the image too with the G00 Copic to make it more uniform looking. I used one of the Copic markers to add the faux stitching along the center piece of layered paper also and then thought the corners kinda looked odd since I had corner punched the Posey paper for the back mat. So I dug out these teeny tiny buttons I have and added one to each corner. You can't tell in the pic but that was also to cover up the mistake X faux stitch thing I tried for the corners LOL! ha ha Next step would of been to get out my cuttlebug and cut some corners to add on it! Never mistakes only opportunities to find new ways of doing things! Yeah ok I will keep telling myself and you all that!
I really liked this one and in fact made another one too and sent it to a friend. Not quite the same but along the same lines and similar enough I won't post here and bore you all!
later.......................
the SNOW has started here we have already about 1/2 an inch at my work and it is blowing already too the trees are dancing away in the wind! Pretty yes but scary for later and tomorrow is supposed to be the bulk of it! YIKES!
Yellow Rose
Again I was using my Copic Markers for coloring - can you tell I like them LOL!
This was made using paper from Hollo's an image I acquired somewhere along the way and dug out of my stamped images stash. I can't recall right at the moment who makes the saying stamp - sorry.
I used my Sunflower Palette Ink to edge the saying paper and the rest was colored with the Copics. The ribbon is a piece from ReallyReasonableRibbon - love her monthly club! You ought to check it out to get new fun, delicious ribbons to use each month!
Ok back to the card :) I used the "out of the box" technique to cut the flower image and then colored it in with the Copics, applying shading on the outer edges then using the lighter color to blend it a little on the rose and buds. For the leaves I did the exact opposite - colored the darker shade inside then used the lighter to blend it outward some. I like the leaves they really seemed to stand out when you look at it!
This was a pretty easy card but I think the colors are pretty striking and it turned out quite nicely. I used it for a treasure hunt swap - I hope my partner gets some enjoyment from it!
Alligator ATC
I made this atc for a canceled postage stamp exchange. I used a piece of cardboard for the base and then added a torn out portin from a magazine. I found an alligator postage stamp in my stash and thought he looked right at home in this water! I loved how the sun set was making the reflection and wanted to capture some more of that so I added the 3 dew drops at the top too. Funny it looks textured in the picture but it didn't really appear so IRL.
Thanks for looking :)
anyone who wants to trade a canceled postage stamp atc just let me know - I LOVE them!
Yellow Centered Flower
Believe it or not this is wallpaper on the front there LOL! I had gathered these samples at a long ago group gathering in Chicago! We raided Menards! LOL
The layering is all then with Hollo's papers and a spot of scrap ribbon and 3 mini gold brads.
The flowers from innovative stamp creations Oriental Nature Elements set is stamped with Black Staz-On on white card stock and colored with my Copic Markers. I am really enjoying these markers LOL and searching for another good deal to get a second set.
The saying is stamped with my Palette Noir Ink and to be safe I zapped it with my heat gun a bit to make sure it was dry since I wasn't sure about the wallpaper and smearing :)
This was in a bundle of a cards I made for a Scavenger Hunt type swap and the assignment for this one was a flower with a yellow center. he he I got 2 flowers with yellow centers! Hope my partner enjoys this one I am pleased with the way it turned out.
Copic Coloring again :)
I really liked this card and it was easy enough to make too.
The stamp is from Magenta, it is all one stamp. I used my Burnt Umber Palettte Ink to stamp it then I cut it into 3 sections, leaving a white border on each one. I used my Copic Markers to color in the flowers and greenery on each piece. You can see the shading I did with 2 colors on the yellow and on the pink flowers pretty well. I need to practice more on the blending yet - I really would like to get one of the Copic Blenders to help with this!
Here is a close up of the pink:
the rest of the card is just matting and layering with the edges swiped with the Burnt Umber ink pad to blend it all together better. Oh yeah and 3 of the super mini buttons on the lower right hand corner LOL!
thanks for looking!
