Any comments left on this post between NOW and Monday morning will go into a drawing for a small goodie or two that I pick up from my weekend away. Now I am not sure where all I will be but I promise to pick something fun up! Maybe even chocolate if it makes it home ROFL!
I will use the random number generator to pick the winner :)
have a great weekend............... I am starting mine early!

Patterned Paper Stamping

I had this great text paper from DCWV but I thought it was a little plain. SO I used a couple different stamps to add a little something to it. All stamps are TAC and I used Palette inks for everything except the paper that says Just be You I used my copic markers to colore and edge it. That piece is also mounted up on foam tape for a little dimension.
This was a simple card but I liked the look and didn't want to add a lot as I was using it for a note to someone (like an everyday letter - remember when people sent those all the time!)
thanks for stopping by today :)

Dew Drops?

Dew drops or should I say Faux Dew Drops. A friend sent these to me and I fell in love with the assortment of colors she was able to get. I have some "real" dew drops also and to be honest there is not that much difference here. They add a great touch to cards with a little dimension and bling factor without being overpowering I think. I have used them on past cards too as raindrops, corner fillers, water droplets and again just to fill space like this one LOL! They are light weight, small and mini glue dots work perfectly for them!

This is the card in all it's glory lol! I used a couple things I have been wanting to try on this one and incorporated it all into my Sketch Challenge for a swap. I used my Melon Spica Glitter Pen to color parts of the butterfly in. then I added a bit of the Purple Spica Glitter pen to accent some and tie it together with the papers I had choosen. The Purple Pattern, Green Pattern and Yellow base card stock all pretty much tied to gether nicely. I wish I had left off the rubbing around the butterfly stamped piece. I had been reading about it on Gina K's Blog that she was using the rubs to edge her paper with great results - well I didn't get such great ones but they were ok enough. Maybe more practice is all I need LOL - yeah that's it more practice!

Thanks for stopping by and looking let me know what you think :)

Katharina's Blog - with some CANDY!!!!!

I was turned onto this blog last week and have enjoyed reading back posts and checking out her craftiness :) She has some awesome cards to look at - great inspiration! She is offering some blog candy too so scoot over to Katharina's and check it out! Don't forget to tell her HaPPy BirTHdAy!

Quilt with Scraps

I had tons of scraps all kinds of sizes that I found when I was cleaning my stamp area awhile back. I kept the "larger" ones and tossed them all in a container.
You never know what you are going to be able to do with the scraps - sometimes they are the perfect touch for a project you are working on.

Well I needed to do something for a quick hello card so I grabbed the scrap bucket a couple of matting papers and a card base and went to work LOL! This is what I ended up with. I simply cut the scraps to fill the spots sorta like color blocking I guess. No 2 pieces are the same here!

The smile stamp is a new one I got from my Secret Sister it is from Studio G (Clear Stamps.)
I stamped it with my Noir Palette Ink and then colored the edges with my Melon Copic Spica Glitter Pen. Then I cut around it and used a piece of foam tape to adhere it so it was raised a bit.

This card went out to a friends mom who I know likes to get mail and I am hoping the bright colors will cheer her :)

Thanks for looking!

Opalite Infusion TJ Technique

I only have 2 Opalite pads the gold and silver and I have to be honest I am not to keen on either one of them. They sit in the shelf upside down in hopes they will stay juicy but no, alas I must reink them each time I want to use them and still I feel like they are dry and hard to use. Anyway I thought I would give this technique a try I mean come on if I can find a use for a product I bought that means I will use it more then I am all for it! So I gave the TJ newsletter a look when I saw the word Opalite and thought ok I can try this.
Part of the directions say the Opalite will help the colors to glide on well there was no gliding and mixing here LOL I had to put a lot of rubbing and blending in to get this look. There is some shimmer to it but it is hard to see in the photo. Sorry I tired several shots to get it but none really reflected it.
So I am still not to keen on the Opalites but I might dump some more reinker on the pad. let it soak, reink again and give it another go...we'll see.............

Growing up is Optional!

Another scraps card I made while cleaning the craft room and packing it up. This one I found the patterned paper first and the challenge was what to dowith it! I was feeling in a purple mood I guess since that is the color I grabbed or maybe that was just the scrap of paper that was big enough for what I wanted to do at the time LOL!
The sentiment stamps are CTMH - sorry I don't know the set name they are a fantastic birthday set though with great in and out sayings!
I basically just edged all the papers, stamped the sentiment, added the dragonfly stamp and then used a copic marker to make a trail for the dragonflies give them some movement. I added the polka dotted May Arts ribbon across to "join" the 2 different papers.
Not a hard card but lots to draw the eye with all the circles and polka dots and flight trails.
thanks for looking!

One More Double Cuttlebugged Card

Happy Federal Robbery Day...oh wait I mean Tax Day...NOOOOOOO
How about just happy Tuesday! LOL

This one is on colored base paper first and rubbed with Sunflower Palette Ink the first time, flattened and then rubbed with Orangerie Palette Ink the second time.
Last one from this series I promise LOL!
I haven't been working on much of anything since the craft room is still in boxes - I am sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo tired of this delaying they are doing!
Anyway I liked the gold brads along the corner on this one. I do think I liked the white backgrounds better than the yellow ones though. You could see more of the color variances.
thanks for looking....something different tomorrow I promise!

Paisley Swirl

While I was "cleaning" in my craft room I found this paper and had to make a quick card with it. The butterflies are stamped on vellum and using some popdot pieces parts
I raised the wings off the paisley background paper.
The word Celebrate is a rub on that I added to a scrap of white paper and using my paper piercer did a small border on. I tore the one edge to give more texture to it. Then also added 2 dew drops to the corners of the white piece to add a little more flair.
This was a quick easy one made with the supplies on the top of my work space.
I feel so out of sorts with stuff everywhere through my house so I am hoping that they will get the darn floor fixed SOON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for looking.

Wax Paper Resit & Tilda Image

A friend from another list sent me these most adorable images to play with. She has posted several cards with them and well they are too cute to pass up so I begged - yep on hands and knees LOL for some to play with. No really she was quite nice and sent me several to play with. I want to find a couple of them to have for myself so have been on the search for a place that has them that will ship to the US. They are Tilda images and this is one of them...

The background is a Wax Paper Resist from the class taught on S4F. I am brayer challenged so I used my Stampin' Spots to drag across and blend the colors together. I really liked the effect it gave, a little bolder lines than brayering. Anyway I then colored Tilda in with my Copic markers and this was my first time using my Copic Blender Marker (see the center of the dress how it is lighter. I also dabbed it on the shoes but didn't take very much off there at all.)

I used my ruler to do a sorta "out of the box" to the image and then added her to the Wax Resist background which was matted onto a pink card base. The sentiment was stamped on matching pink paper. I used a scrap of white paper to make a mat and using a second piece of scrap paper I made an edge and dragged one of the Copics around it to make a border. Then I matted the pink sentiment with the edged white piece and put it a little off kilter towards the top.

I was really happy with this card and the textured look of it although for the most part it is smooth card stock LOL!

Hope you enjoyed looking.

More Double Cuttlebugged Cards

I had such fun with the cuttlebug the other day I made several of the backgrounds. Then cut and used them differently to create cards for some RAK's. Here is another with some pretty polka dot ribbon and then using matching orange paper and my scalloped oval punch I made a hello to place on the front. I think the flower on this one looks cool since the orange didn't completely cover it gives it even more texture. This one also has no Sunflower Ink swiped on it.

This one I did with the Sunflower and Orangerie swiped background. Again though check out the flowers - I really like that part of it LOL!

I added some faux jewels on this one and one as a flower center.

I will definately be revitising this technique with different embossing folders and color choices.

Get Well Double Cuttlebug Impression

I was trying to be good and not get any supplies out since the clean up is to begin and I need to be moving out of the craft room but I couldn't do it :)
I grabbed my Cuttlebug and some white paper, a couple folders and some ink pads to see what would happen when I just was playing LOL! Well I ran the paper through once with the circle flower thing - can't think of the name of that plate I am not at home to check...then used my Sunflower Palette ink to lightly run over it and highlight it some. I used my bone folder to mash the impressions back flat as best I could and then ran it through the cuttlebug a second time with the flourishy flower folder (again not at home to check the names LOL). I used my Orangerie Palette Ink pad across the top then to highlight the second cuttlebug impression.
I found one of the tiny tag you see here on my desk area still so I stamped a butterfly from TAC GWP last fall's catalog I think with my Orangerie onto it and attached it to the background I made with a gold brad. Then I used my circle punch and punched out the piece I then stamped with the Get Well Soon (Nior Palette Ink) and I edged it and the background paper with Haystack Palette Ink. (it is new I had to try it out you know!)
I matted this onto orange cardstock from Hollo's then attached to tan base card.
Used it to send out some RAK's on one of my lists!
I did several of these backgrounds with tags for a swap but used some others for different things which I will share with you here also...watch for them!
thanks for looking :)

Long Happy Birthday

Today is beautiful outside and I can imagine balloons floating in the air...or kites LOL! Anyway here is a card I made for a friend's birthday using some chipboard!

For this I strayed from the standard fold card to a long fold card! need variety every once in awhile you know! This is a white card stock base (Hollo's) and I added some blue scored squares paper then layered a stamped saying I had in my stash on the top. I added the balloon chipboard shape that I covered with some of my scrap paper and
then I used a piece of CTMH Scrappers Floss for the balloon string.

Another of the Wild's cards

This is another of the cards I made when I did the Wild's ones for a past swap - I finally found the picture and wanted to share with you all. It is the same technique I used in the previous one you can read about it here.

This one has a little of the leather type paper along the side. I like this paper but don't recall where it came from and I don't have anymore. If you know please pass the info along!

Thanks and see you later.......................

Sketch 92

Today seems a bit like Spring finally! It is rainy and cloudy but the temps are up - there was no frost on my car this AM and I am able to leave the gloves in the pocket for today LOL!

Not that it won't be different tomorrow - this is Ohio you know!

Anywhoooooooo....... on to today's post.

Another SC sketch! I love the little tab top things LOL - I seem to be using them a lot lately!

The supplies I used on this card are:

Palette Inks in Jardin Moss, Cognac and Bordeaux

Stamps are:
TAC Fanciful Flowers (T-2283)
VAP! Scrap Hello

Paper is from Hollo's (yellow)
and Making Memories Boho Chic 6x6 pad

I did lots of layers on this one and also used my scalloped punch to cut a frame out for the floral image.

Following the sketches makes it easy to get an awesome looking card no matter what pieces of paper or images you choose. As long as your items coordinate and you lay them out in the sketch fashion (or close to LOL-improvising is ALWAYS OK!) you end up with a great looking card!

Isn't the Boho Chic paper great with it's distressed look too. Using the Cognac ink helped that along also when I edged the paper.

Unique Fold - or Z-Fold Card

I love this card fold - it is easy and impressive when done!

I used peach and brown paper for this along with patterned paper (can't recall who it is from) with a bold swirl pattern that I really liked! I added the flowers and the dragonflies to the front and front inner portion. I colored them with my Spica glitter pens and markers.

IN the close up here you can see that I added pinkish dew drops to the one edge of the patterned paper - I love those things! They add such a nice touch to the pieces.

Isn't that patterned paper just gorgeous too! I love it! Anyone know who makes it so I can get some more?

Thanks for looking!

knitting!

ok so it is cold again today after being in the upper 50's and GORGEOUS yesterday so this post fits LOL!

I participate in an online swapping group where all crafts are represented and this is one of my projects from there. I was quite proud of it having not done that much knitting! The fiber was funky and full of knots and stretched pieces and all kinds of color! I fell in love with it when I saw it at the store and thought well this will be forgiving of my inexperience and not show dropped or missed stitches! HA HA HA HA and did I say HA HA HA HA!

That was the hardest darn fiber I have ever worked with and it showed the mistakes - as the colors lined up to create a design when you knit it!

Well It came out quite nice and I was so pleased that I instantly bagged it up and shipped it off - NOT taking a picture of my hard work - ughhhh!

Well my partner was kind enough to photograph herself wearing it and she said she really liked it and enjoyed the bright fun colors. She also called me brave for picking this fiber to work with. he he if only she knew how many times I pulled it out and restarted LOL!

Anyway my fingers can't take the knitting so they have been hung up so to say but I was glad I gave it a try!

Sketch 115

Another SC sketch I worked on. I used this for my March COTM for SC also.

This little monkey is actually a rub on that I put onto a piece of whit card stock from Hollo's and then matted onto KI Memories Pieces of Me - My Life Pebbles paper.

I edged the papers with my Jardin Moss Palette Ink and then adhered to the dark green background which was mounted onto a white card base.

The button I believe is from SU - not sure it was laying on my work area and lost so I gave it a home LOL!

thanks again for checking my work out :)
