FCD is having a Spring Fling

Can you believe it is supposed to be Spring? Well we have had cool temps, rain, frost on the windows and so sorry some of you have even had that dreaded "S" word again. ughhh!!!

Well FCD is ready to help you get into the Spring mood with our Spring Fling. We are celebrating by using The spring sets Pamela has recently released. There are sure to be loads of inspirational ideas along the way so make sure you started at Pamela's so you can follow us all the way along in order...you never know if there might be a surprise along the way LOL! If you need to go to the beginning that is ok - go ahead...I'll still be here waiting for you when you hop back from Libby's. If that is where you just hopped from well then let's get hopping!

Spring is here or so they say and these chicks want to come out and play but wait it is nearly Easter and we must celebrate so don some ears and festive bows and off we go!

I saw this adorable Criss Cross box on another blog and just had to give it a try, when I saw the size of them I knew that Pamela's You Quack Me Up set would fit it perfectly. Grab the on sale Easter Grass and I was ready for a couple favor type boxes. (Note to self- you STILL DO NOT like Easter Grass - same as last year and the one before and the one before that and so on...)

Spring is peeking...

For this one I used Copic markers in YG00, Y02, Y08, YR02, Roo, YR16 and R11 along with my Sakura Glaze pens to color the bows and ribbon. I colored them all with the pink underneath (see close up photo) and then paper pieced the bows with matching paper from my background. The bows were also colored with some Clear Glaze so they are a little shiny! I added the sentiment using the tag nestabilitie die to cut it out. The small flowers are also on the set only I nipped off the stems and used just the flower head itself. I also added a couple of Prima mini's to the front and bright green brads for the centers. I thought that this chick would look cute peeking out the cracks for the fold in order to match the sentiment.

Funky Polka Dots!

Now this cheery chick complete with the paper pieced orange polka dotted bow tie is having so much fun! I colored with Roo, YR61, Y15, Y17, YR16 and Y38. The bow and the complete headband on this one are all paper pieced with the polka dotted paper from TAC. I used the oval scalloped netabilitie die to mat him with and then added the band of ric rac from Really Reasonable Ribbon to keep it on.

These were both fun to make and I have a couple more cut out ready to assemble for Easter time. I have to wait to get that candy though cause otherwise I will eat it all! LOL!

Now before I send you off hopping to see what goodies Heather has for us make sure you leave me a comment and I will have Random.org pick a lucky winner of one of the boxes above - and yes I will send the treats too LOL!

Now off you go to Heather's...
