Safe Journey

It is May and I am already looking forward to the long weekend that comes at the end of the month but one also needs to remember that it isn't just a long weekend it is Memorial Day. To honor those who serve and served our country the Design team at FireCracker Designs by Pamela will be showcasing the So Far Away stamp set so that you all can see how versatile it is. This set is wonderful to use to send to a soldier to say "thank you" or to let them know you are wishing them wall and so on. The sentiments are also great for focal images and I will share one of those another day!

This card I am sharing today was made all from one sheet of paper. It is called Black Magic paper and is black on one side and a color on the other. I used the bright blue for this one and some portions then are sanded to reveal through the black a bit.

I stamped the main image and then layered it up with pop dots to add dimension to the card. The rectangles on the opposing corners of the main image are also pop dotted. The circle which I cut with my Slice is sanded to reveal some of the blue through it to give contrast to the various layers of the card. I also used blue rain dots along the bottom left of the card and a lace punch along the black strip under the main image.

Don't forget the soldiers near and far who fought for or are still fighting for our freedom!
