This fun butterfly is one I really like but don't use often enough! When I saw the new TJ newsletter with a fun technique called Depth of Field I thought this one would work nicely and it did :) The Fly-Butterfly set from FireCracker Designs has a couple different ones to choose from actually but this one with his wings wide open appealed most to me today.
I added some ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon and also some flowers I had cut using my Slice from various scraps I had lying around. I added a rhinestone center to the flowers and painted on some Shimmerz Angel Wings which ended up curling the edges up a bit so I didn't have to! YAY!!!! LOL! I had stamped the main image of the butterfly onto white cardstock, punched it out and then colored him with Prismacolor Watercolor Pencils using my SU Blender pen to move the color around. I did scribble a little blue around the outside of him and used some water to spread it but it is so light you can't hardly see it in the photo. I matted it onto a scalloped circle that matches the card base. I decided the butterfly needed a little rhinestone trail so added those right above the flower at the edge of the punched circle he is stamped on.
Inside I layered a piece of white cardstock to write on instead again of the dark cardbase. Then I stamped a saying from the set along the bottom of it, stamped the small butterfly to the left of the saying and added another rhinestone trail for him.
I like this one and am sent it off to Pamela to use in her packing of orders. I hope that whereever it ends up the person will enjoy it also!
