FCD is having a Spring Fling

Can you believe it is supposed to be Spring? Well we have had cool temps, rain, frost on the windows and so sorry some of you have even had that dreaded "S" word again. ughhh!!!

Well FCD is ready to help you get into the Spring mood with our Spring Fling. We are celebrating by using The spring sets Pamela has recently released. There are sure to be loads of inspirational ideas along the way so make sure you started at Pamela's so you can follow us all the way along in order...you never know if there might be a surprise along the way LOL! If you need to go to the beginning that is ok - go ahead...I'll still be here waiting for you when you hop back from Libby's. If that is where you just hopped from well then let's get hopping!

Spring is here or so they say and these chicks want to come out and play but wait it is nearly Easter and we must celebrate so don some ears and festive bows and off we go!

I saw this adorable Criss Cross box on another blog and just had to give it a try, when I saw the size of them I knew that Pamela's You Quack Me Up set would fit it perfectly. Grab the on sale Easter Grass and I was ready for a couple favor type boxes. (Note to self- you STILL DO NOT like Easter Grass - same as last year and the one before and the one before that and so on...)

Spring is peeking...

For this one I used Copic markers in YG00, Y02, Y08, YR02, Roo, YR16 and R11 along with my Sakura Glaze pens to color the bows and ribbon. I colored them all with the pink underneath (see close up photo) and then paper pieced the bows with matching paper from my background. The bows were also colored with some Clear Glaze so they are a little shiny! I added the sentiment using the tag nestabilitie die to cut it out. The small flowers are also on the set only I nipped off the stems and used just the flower head itself. I also added a couple of Prima mini's to the front and bright green brads for the centers. I thought that this chick would look cute peeking out the cracks for the fold in order to match the sentiment.

Funky Polka Dots!

Now this cheery chick complete with the paper pieced orange polka dotted bow tie is having so much fun! I colored with Roo, YR61, Y15, Y17, YR16 and Y38. The bow and the complete headband on this one are all paper pieced with the polka dotted paper from TAC. I used the oval scalloped netabilitie die to mat him with and then added the band of ric rac from Really Reasonable Ribbon to keep it on.

These were both fun to make and I have a couple more cut out ready to assemble for Easter time. I have to wait to get that candy though cause otherwise I will eat it all! LOL!

Now before I send you off hopping to see what goodies Heather has for us make sure you leave me a comment and I will have Random.org pick a lucky winner of one of the boxes above - and yes I will send the treats too LOL!

Now off you go to Heather's...

Doodle Factory Again!

What happens when you combine Grape Jelly with Pearl, Ex, Doodle Factory, some scrap paper and 2Sketches4You?
This!
LOL!

Yes I am sure you are going Grape Jelly? Well that is what that awesome Doodle Factory frog is stamped on Grape Jelly Pop Tones paper from the Paper Temptress!
The paper with the stripes was a scrap in my bin which had the gorgeous blue on the reverse, the brads are from Basic Grey and I used my marvey punches to cut the shapes! Fun easy card and it is sparkly with the use of Pearl Ex on the frog and a mica card base.

Live, Love, Laugh...Friends

I made this card for the Live*Love*Laugh*Create's Digital Stamp Oasis Design Team try out. She wants to focus on cute and coloring with Alcohol based markers (like Copic) or Pencils and OMS both of which I like to do. All her images are drawn by her husband! Now that is team work don't ya think :) Unfortunately I didn't make it this time :(

Anyway the image I used was from SU and papers from my scrap bin some of which I think is CTMH. I used my Copics for coloring of course in C1, RV29 & 34, E04,E93, E35, E33, E31 and E21 as well as G99 and YG95. I used a Prima flower on the top corner and then added some faux dew drops to the bottom under the stamped hello. The card was mounted on Gina K Pure Luxury Brilliant White card base.

Enjoy!

I really liked this one.

TJ Just One for March

Elemental Doodles

Yep I am finally getting some play time with my stamps I got from them :) No I am not sharing my Guest Designer items yet - it isn't April you know! What I am sharing is a card I made with one of the sets I won for the naming contest they had!

Meet the Forest Fairies...well at least one of them!

Isn't she pretty! I enjoyed coloring her with my Copic markers (YG00, YG03, YG63, YG67, Y06, Y15, E00, E21, E33, E35, BV31) I also added some Shimmerz - Angel Wings to her skirt.

The technique I used on this card called Ribbon Weaving - is from the Oct/Nov Technique Junkies Newsletter ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon of course! I really love that it showcases the ribbon so nicely!

Here is the whole card showing the Mica paper card stock base that shimmers so beeautifully too! Also added some dew drops to the upper right corner too and the swirl is cut from the Slice! Basic 3 Design Card.

This was my Just One card from the TJ list for March - I hope my partner enjoys it :) Hope she isn't peaking either in case it hasn't arrived yet LOL!

C4E-24

Another Sunday and another sketch to play with! I got a birthday Kit in the mail this past week and since yesterday was our family birthday party for all the Feb/Mar birthdays I was in that mode :) I used some supplies from the kit and some of my own to make this card for one of them. The balloons were not part of it and they are from Mark Richards Collections 3D Birthday Stickers. No clue where they came from but they turned up on my desk top and were promptly put to use! More about the kit will be coming later this week along with more card made from it. Don't forget to hop over to Crafts4Eternity and take the sketch challenge yourself!

Floral Tree

Well Miss Pamela scooped me LOL! She surprised me by sharing this and some other items in a Spotlite post on her blog on Wednesday! You can see that post by clicking here if you like.

This card is pretty much a plain jane - meaning I did not add a sentiment nor did I stamp inside as I am not sure what the occasion will be to use it! I really like the Silhouette Flowers set and it is very versatile in that this branch can be the tree trunk, a limb peaking out over the land/water or use only part of it like a bush brach...The flowers come in a variety of sizes also so it is easy to find the right size to fit. For this one I chose to have my design stand tall like a tree with flowers on it. The flower centers are black stickles and this stuff is really cool cause even though it is black it is glittery - very pretty! I ran a bit of May Arts ribbon down the center and paired it with some plain black card stock and a layer of cream to match the inside of the card which is cream also.

Hope you enjoy and thank you to Pam for Spotliting me!

Inky Impressions 1st Design Team Call

Good afternoon everyone :)

I wanted to be sure to get this posted up in time and thanks to some coaxing from Anna I was reminded to get on it! So here is a new card - colored fresh this AM and another I just really love that I want to share with Nicole who I don't think saw it the first time :)

Interesting thing about Inky Impressions is that she is in Cleveland OH or at least that is what her profile says and that is close to me! Not even an hour away!

Nicole hope you are enjoying the first day of Spring here in Ohio - it is sun shining anyway and that puts a smile on my face!

ok....on to the cards and coloring!

I received this image in a swap so all I know is that it is a Hanglar & Stanglar image - I don't know what the stamp name itself is. It appeared to be stamped on watercolor type paper. I used several Copic Markers in coloring this one. I really am pleased with how the pants and tie turned out! Colors used were Eoo, E21, E02, Y00, Y02, Y21 - makes great blonde hair I think!, YG91, YG95, E35 and E37. I added some Shimmerz Candle Light to the wings but you can't see it well IRL but boy does it shimmer in person!

I made the card base from Paper Temptress Jellybean Green Pop Tones paper - love the Pop Tones! Colors are fabulous! I added some paper from Making Memories Travel 6x6 pad and then decided to loosly follow the sketch from C4E-22 which I felt allowed the image and the paper both to be shown off! Instead of a strip across the bottom I added a cuttlebugged tag and some ribbon from my March Ribbon Club package from Really Reasonable Ribbon. After looking at it a bit I decided to add some Raindrops along the edge of the paper at the top right.

Course to get rid of the harsh paper edges I used ink to edge the papers and this time I grabbed the Palette Burnt Umber pad. I also stamped hey there from the same named TAC set - left it kind of a general use card for right now - I can add more sentiment to the inside later to taylor it to what I need.

And a second card that shows off my coloring ability it this bunny hugs one! I just really like this card and it is currently on my display board so I can look up at it while I am crafting! I love to look up and know that something up there will make me smile! LOL

I originally posted this on Feb 28th - yep this card has been on the happy wall for several weeks now :) LOL! Anyway if you want to know more there about it, here is the link.

I do also upload all the pictures to my gallery at Split Coast Stamper, Paper Craft Planet and my gallery at Stampers Corner. I also share on groups and I send cards in swaps too to get the images out there :) If you want to see other things I do besides cards pleasefeel free to stroll through my blog and you will find a variety of things scattered round including pins, booklets and atc's just to mention a couple.

Thanks for looking!

Doodle Factory!

Isn't this giraffe funky! he he I love the Starving Artistamps Doodle Factory stamps and I go this guy in the One Million Stamp For $1! Can you believe that! Anyway I got a couple stamps through that and will be sharing more with you I am sure in the upcoming weeks.

For this card I used the Twinkling Tuesdays MTTSC13 sketch yes I know it is late but still I did it :) LOL I found a scrap of bubble wrap background paper in my stash and it worked perfectly for a layer for the giraffe. The striped layer of paper was in my stash also and just looked cool with everything else LOL so I added it! Then I added some dew drops to the top of each corner in green and blue to balance it out some. The giraffe image was colored with Copic markers (YR31, YR61, E37 and Y00). The solid paper is all from Hollo's and I used my Heidi Swapp edge distressing tool on the yellow layers. The ribbon was just a small bit I had saved and was super wide so I used my ribbon hole punch 3 times on each side to make the opening wide enough for it to lace through.

Hope you enjoy it! Have a happy funky Friday everyone!

I love you thiiiis much!

Oh My Pamela from FireCracker Designs has done it again with another too cute duck added to her collection of stamps! I do hope this guy becomes a regular of hers and appears in more antics and rubber! LOL!

this is one of those took the close up and did the photo enhance on so you could see the shimmer, makes it look like eggshell LOL! Wish I could just figure out how to capture the RL look of things and not always have to settle for what the picture shows...hmmmph

Again shadow city on this card - IRL the orange is pretty and the flowers are white! I layered Orange Fizz Pop Tones card stock from The Paper Temptress with patterned paper from TAC and some Gina K 120 lb Pure Luxury Brilliant White. I stamped the Quack Up Duck on the Pure Luxury card stock and colored with Copics, no bleed through on this card stock at all! Love that! I cut the duck out and pop dotted him to some more Pure Luxury that I had added some cuttlebugged side to. Since the diamond from Pamela's set worked perfect in the cuttlebugged diamond I stamped it on each of them LOL! Love that look!

Just a fun card I was playing with - the set was too cute to let sit and not ink some up! ROFL!

Happy Birthday Friend

Feb/March is a busy birthday time for us around here and one of my friends had a birthday near the beginning of the month so I thought a cute hedgie (SU) to wish her a fun day was in order.

I used The Paper Temptress Pop Tones paper in Banana Split and Bubble Gum paired with Basic Grey Euphoria paper to make her this card. I added some Autumn Leaves Elegant Flourishes by rhonna farrer to the Banana Split base and then some Basic Grey Two Scoops brads to the Euphoria layer of paper.

The hedgie is from SU and I wasn't too sure about stamping on colored paper after adding some Copic color to him I think perhaps it was not the best choice since they are supposed to be brownish in color LOL! Anyway it made a fun card and she liked it!

So Far Away

I made this card using a set called So Far Away from FireCracker Deisgns by Pamela. I really like this set to use to send to the troops when I am mailing off care packages. I had also made some last time and included in a package I sent to a church and several of the ladies picked them out to send to their spouses who were serving and not home with them. T

he image is great as you can color or leave the uniform blank so it is very versatile for any service branch. On this card I used the Triple Play Tutorial from TJ newsletter. However, I wanted it to be able to be used to write in so I added the cream colored paper and it opens up to reveal a slightly smaller cream layer where one can write a note on . The edges are distressed with my Heidi Swapp tool and I like the rugged look it gives the card.

The green/black paper is actually a piece of the Black Magic colored core paper I got - I don't really know why they say it is a colored core as one side is the color and one side is black. Isn't "core" meaning inside? Oh well - I like the paper and thought it would work well for this card being the green matched the color I got when using my Prisma Color WaterColor pencils and blending them with my SU blender pen :)

Guest Designer

It's official now :)
I was selected to be the first Guest Designer for Elemental Doodles and they announced it yesterday on their blog! I just got some stamps from them this past weekend and I can't wait to play and share with you all! They will be sharing my art throughout the next 2 months with you on their sites - I will try to link and maybe even sneak peak so you know about it also and can check it out!

Pull Up Card

I decided to try something new this time and made a pull up card ( I think the tut is on SCS but I can't for the life of me find the link right now - sorry.) The stamps are all from FireCracker Designs by Pamela Silhouette Flowers and the sentiment from So Far Away. Paper is from DCWV and also CTMH.

I took Pamela's branch and turned it right up to make a tree with flowers and some leaves. I also stamped the tops of the orange base with some of the flowers from the set but I did it with orange ink and you can't see it well in the picture.

with change comes some loss

You may or may not of noticed but I have a new domain name :)
Yep I took the plunge and got my own...that being said some trial and error was going on behind the scenes and in doing so it appears I have lost some blog rolls (Friends & Fun and my SBS24 links) So I will be re-adding them - please bear with me on this - it may take some time. I think I may revert back to a 2 column blog also as I have had some feedback saying it is a little crowded here. So if you stop by and get an error message or something isn't looking quite right be aware I might be working on things and please do come try again later :) I have no intention of letting the blog go - just trying to make it better and easier to use :)

thanks so much everyone!

Oh and if you are wondering the new link is...

Another Sunday and time for another Sketch from Crafts 4 Eternity!

Michele added a theme this week Mother's Day so I added the word Mom to the front and will add a note inside :) The image was one I got in a swap I am sorry I don't know who it is by, I colored it with Copic markers and then cut it out with my scalloped rectangle nestabilities. I added some Metallic Rub to the edges of it to emphasize the ridge and pattern some. I also pop dotted this layer up off the patterned paper green gingham type paper and then layered onto Wild Cherry Pop Tones card stcok from The Paper Temptress. Used some green ribbon with little loopties on the sides to finish it off :) All this is layered onto a card base made from Sweet Tooth Pop Tones Card Stock again from The Paper Temptress. The word Mom is actually a sticker I had on one of those freebie sheets they send you in the mail to entice you to "buy" something or another LOL! I kept the freebies - didn't buy anything though. After looking at the card a bit I thought it a little "nekkid" in the corner so I added more bling with the rhinestones.

Don't forget to give the sketch a try yourself and share with us on the Crafts 4 Eternity blog!

Easter Pins

I love to be able to wear cute pins and I know several others too so when I got these adorable bunnies and chicks stamps from TAC I knew they would be the perfect size to pair with my chipboard ovals from Debbie's Diecuts and make some Easter themed pins! I made several as you can see. Stamping the images on then coloring with Copic markers, some dusted with Pearl Ex, others with Shimmerz and some just plain. Each is a little different even if the stamp used was the same! And even some of the bunnies are pink and purple LOL - no one said they had to be brown or white all the time right?!?!?!

This little chick with the Easter Egg is one of my favorites. I love the bright colors I was able to get and the sheen from the Pearl Ex makes it sparkle so pretty in the light. All of which is incredibly hard to capture with the camera! Yeesh!

Now this guy I did the picture auto correct thing so you could see the sparkle from the Pearl Ex under the Crystal Laquer. It really is much softer colors in person!

As a final step since I am selling some of these I mounted them onto flowers or tag shapes I cut from the Slice! and then adhered them to ATC size papers. Each is hand signed and ready to help whomever it is pinned on celebrate and spread some Easter Cheer!

Wishing you Good Fortune

Happy Friday the 13th everyone!
I hope you all have a wonderful day and to help...

I am wishing you all some Good Fortune!

I made this card for my dd for her birthday. It has some special meanings for us and I also wanted to play with the new Miso Cute stamp set from FCD. Since I tend to think of reds and golds when doing Oriental style cards I went with that. I used the Good Fortune and dragon from the set to make my own background paper on the red. I added some gold ribbon and then used my Slice! to cut the tag out. I stamped the sentiment from Birthday Balloons - Up Up and Away set, half on the tag the rest inside. I also added gold brads to either end of the tag.
Then I added the Dragon die cut that goes with the Miso Cute set- these die cuts are FabUlousO if you still haven't tried them well then I simply don't know what to say other than you
are
missing out! I colored the dragon with my Copic markers to make him have a golden glow.
Finally I matted it with black and mounted it to the gold card base which is made of paper from The Paper Temptress.

Yep my dd liked the card :)

PMS Party

haha got your attention didn't I :)

No I don't have PMS but I am going to be PMS'ing on Sunday...why don't you join me :)

Paper Makeup Stamps has some pretty neat items so be sure to come an check it out plus if you help to spread the word you get entered into a drawing for some special savings!

See you there!

Thoughts of you

I was again playing with my Copics and making backgrounds and ended up with this lovely water one :) How great since it goes so well with Silhouette Flowers
These are my 2 newest sets from FireCracker Designs by Pamela. They are fantastic and offer such great combinations I have been having a blast playing with them!
I also dabbed on the water stamp from Seaside Stampin Ink to add a little texture!

I had a heck of time with photographing this one - I got a light box tent thing but still seem to get horrible shaodws and not good pics - anyone have any advice?
enjoy!

3-2-1- March C4E Challenge

Was working on the March 3-2-1 Challenge for Crafts4Eternity which is to use:
3 flowers
2 pattern papers
1 ribbon

I came up with this card. Not sure on it LOL! I like the colors just maybe not all together?

I used one of the flowers from FCD Forgive Me set and stamped it 3 times, colored each a different color with my Copic markers and then cut them out. I detached 2 of them from their stems and then adhered them with various sizes of pop dots to layer them up on the card base I had already prepped with my 2 pattern paper choices. I added the stems back once the flowers were set and I put the ribbon bow on top to "tie" them together like a small bouquet. I stamped the Happy Mothers Day onto a small cutout from my Slice! machine and then used pop dots for it also. It is a bright cheery card for sure :) I hope you will scoot over to C4E and give the March 3-2-1 challenge or one fo the others a try also.

Yellow Unicorn

This is another one I made for The Greeting Farm DT Gardener Call but wasn't picked this time.
For this card I wanted to use some of my new Pop Tones paper from The Paper Temptress so I got out the Banana Split - now doesn't that just sound yummy! LOL I added some DCWV Pocket Full of Posies paper which is bright, colorful and glittery.

The image was colored with Copic Markers in Bright shaded of yellow. I added purple on the flowers to tie it in with the DCWV paper and then added some green ric rack from Really Reasonable Ribbon to the edges of the paper. The unicorn I did an out of the box cut and used some of my Spica AtYou glitter pen to color the butterfly , pinkinsh flowers and the horn. It really sparkles well IRL but hard to capture on camera!

I left this card greeting free as I wasn't sure what I would want to use it for yet :)

do you Wii?

If you Wii or if you have an opinion about the Wii please see my post here on my other blog and leave me some feedback...I need input :)

Thanks!

Where've you been hiding?

OMGosh isn't this little ant peeking out too cute! This card is made from new and recycled materials! I love that i am using up some scraps and pieces parts from around my craft room! The tree actually came to me from someone else but was a little damaged in transit so I recycled it using a little glue here and there to keep it together! The background was cuttlebugged who knows how long ago and was in my scrap bin, I just edged it here for this card. The other layering piece is a bit of the Painted Mesh TJ technique I was doing not that long ago. The little ant well he is new! He wa part of my recent TAC party purchase and I think he is too cute. I colored the rock and grass with my Copics and trimmed it out to mount under the tree on the card front. The sentiment is also from the same TAC set and I just layered that with another small piece of the Painted Mesh background that was left, added a little snippet of ric rac from Really Reasonable Ribbon and called it complete! LOL! Enjoy!

C4E22

I am just crawling by to tell you it is Sunday! What does that mean? A new sketch from Crafts4Eternity! Woo Hoo! Isn't this little Diva bug cute with her jewel on! he he

This week was a fun card to make - you can really show off some paper like I did here. I did change it up a little doing a shorter card and flipping my image on the side instead of making it long to cover the pretty paper up! But Michele said we can rotate and flip however we like :)

Well this little lady is from the TAC So Sweet set and I colored her with Copics, added a jewel to her and then colored in around her to make the scene. I stamped the hey there (TAC also) and it seemed to be floating in mid air so I added the dragonfly doodad on top. Since I had colored this image previously and added the purple dragonfly already I had to find papers to go with it. While digging in my scrap bin I found this awesome striped paper and it livened the whole thing up! I used purple ribbon which I colored with my Copic marker to match the brads I wanted to use along the side. Layered with mauve and green papers and ended up with the card above. What do you think?

Can't wait to see what you all do with this week sketch...head over to C4E and check out the rest of the DT team did and then give it a try yourself!

Blog Candy Alert!

Today it is raining buckets out there LOL!
First real thunderstorm of the year I would have to say. Ummm I think you are supposed to get off the computer then but I don't see any lightning so I am going to keep plugging along! I don't really like that it is raining since I have errands to run later BUT I am so happy for this and not that awful white crap to be coming down :) Warmer temps too WOOHOO!

Ok so here are a couple blog candies I found this AM while perusing my emails and boards.

Starving Artistamps have some pretty cool and funky stamps! I would love to have a whole collection of them... Check out the newest offerings from them and then spread the word and enter the candy contestto help them celebrate the new release!

Good Luck everyone!

Unicorn

Recently The Greeting Farm had a DT Gardener Call to which I applied. Unfortunately I didn't make it this time but I did have fun playing with one of their images ...

I thought this unicorn was cute and I knew I wanted to use if for a birthday card. I colored it with Copic markers, added Shimmerz to the Unicorn and then cut it out with my Marcy Giga Scalloped Oval punch. I then paired it with some fun bright and sparkly DCWV Pocket Full of Posies paper and some bright pink paper for the layering and card base. I used some TAC stamps for the small sentiment in the corner and the round disc sentiment too. The Gold brad and ribbon set off the gold coloring on the flowers and the Unicorn's horn.

Bluebirds & Flowers

Did you ever make a card and were like WOW I LOVE THIS ONE?!?!? Well that is how I feel about this one!

I was making Copic backgrounds and the blue ones were going to be for fish and such but then I thought hey what about the bluebirds? I love how it turned out don't you?!?!?

The other background I did ended up with shades of purple and pink so I thought some flowers stamped in complimentary colors would look nice. So I used the FCD Silhouette Flowers set to add flowers, stems and greenery along the bottom of the purple/pink background.

Then I topped the card off with some ribbon which I stamped a design on from the same set and then I added the bluebirds from FCD YooHOOO! set.

I couldn't help myself and I did add little sparkly centers to the flowers too!

So what do you think? I think this will make an awesome note card to a friend!

A blog award

Nicki over at Little Ted Cards gave me an award this past weekend :)
Isn't that butterfly darling :)

TSSC57

Going Green? That was the theme for a card I need for a swap so I thought that the multiple shades of green papers would work well for TechnoStamp Sketch #57. Yep I am a little late so you don't find it linked from TechnoStamp site but it is here and done :) The sentiment is from TAC and I added the gold brads since it mentioned Gold. I used a darker green to layer on and also added a strip in between the 2 patterned papers on the side. It is a simple card but showcases the papers well. On the scalloped circle I did add some piercing to add a bit more ooommmphh to it LOL!

C4E-21

It's Sunday which means time for another Crafts4Eternity Sketch! I really like this one - lots of layers and shows off the image but also some pretty papers too! I hope you all play along too.

Aren't these brads from Queen & Co. too cute! I love their little spotted selves! I twisted them around some really fun polka dotted ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon to use on my card this week.

Lets see there is a lot going on for this card...

I used a new image (to me anyway) from PollyCraft Designs. It is a digital image and I colored it with Copic Markers. I added some Spica glitter over the top of the shoes, necklace and belt she is wearing as well as the crown and star! Then I cut her out with my Giga Scalloped Oval punch, I don't have a larger punch to mat with so I used my Slice! and cut a circle met which I ran through the Cuttlebug with one of my floral A2 folders. The patterned flowered paper is from TAC called Tuscany Spice and it is layered on papers from Hollo's. I did edge them all with some Cognac ink from Palette also.

Isn't this a cute cheer card - it is on it's way to someone right now :)

ok so head over to Crafts4Eternity now to see what the rest of the DT team did and to get the sketch drawing to try for yourself!
