Girl With Flower

I was wanting to play with using 2 different cuttlebug embossing folders on the same card front so that is how this card came to be :) Again using images and card stock that were sitting on my crafting area.

Pretty simple and can easily be a friendship card or birthday or thinking of you! I like when they are versatile like that I can pop a sentiment into the middle, add a note and off it goes.

For the Birds

I was using up the orange paper I had around my work area and came up with this card. I ran the bottom through the cuttlebug and then swiped it with the ink pad. Added the polka dot ribbon across the piece and then matted with some dark brown paper. I matted the image that I had stamped from the FCD set A Little Bird Told Me. For a change I colored with my Prisma Watercolor pencils too! The buttons on the bottom were just ones from my stash and I tied a piece of twine through them before adhering them to the card stock.

It's the little things...

I wish I could say that I had intended to set out to make this card but nope it just kinda fell together :) I had scraps of paper on my desk and my Pail and Shovel stamp set from FireCracker Designs by Pamela so I just started playing :) This ended up to be a little bigger than an ATC and will be used in a scrapbook as my dd walked in and saw it and she just returned from a beach vacation and has been hunting for scrapping stuff for it.

I tore the blue scraps of paper and then brushed the edges with my Paletee New Canvas ink pad to give a bit of a crest to the waves. Then I layered them onto the base paper. I colored the bucket and shovel and rock (from Just Breath (Again) set) and sand area with Copic markers. The sentiment is from the Little Things set and I just love that saying!

Happy Anniversary

I brought my Slice out to play on this card some with the frame and background in the center. I cut 2 different sizes and layered them up with some foam tape after adding ink to them for color. The background is the Depth of Field technique from the TJ newsletter and I really like how this technique is so versatile with word stamps, solids or detailed stamps! Great background paper any which way you do it! This is another of the contest cards I made for something and I will have to let you know how it turns out later :) LOL!

Just One TJ July

This is the card I made for my TJ Just One partner. I used the Textured Tape Technique from October 2005. The paper is called Grape Jelly Pop Tones and is from Paper Temptress and the black and glossy are from Hollo's. The ribbon was on a wedding favor and I am recycling it :) The flower is unknown stamp I received in a SwapBot swap. The sentinment is from TAC Nothing Is Better (T-675.) I added 4 mini pearls from Basic Grey to the sides of the stamped flower image.

DRS Designs Color Throwdown

how's that go day late and a $ short well I am several days actually...I find time to make stuff but then it seems it is always past the upload and share by date it seems! I am going to have to work on that (see me adding it to my list of other things to work on too! IT IS A LONG LIST!)

This was the color throwdown from DRS last week and I used their cupcake image (E463)to make a small 3x3 card to use with a gift when giving to someone. I did a bit of paper piecing for the cupcake liner with the same paper I used to layer on which is a piece of handmade shaving cream background. I love this technique :) Fun, a little messy and NO 2 pieces come out the same! Makes for great quick backgrounds. I colored with Copic Markers, added some 3D Crystal Lacquer to the cherry and then mounted it on a scalloped circle added a bit of ribbon and taped it all together!

HOT HOT HOT!!!!

FCD DT is heating things up for you in July!

The goal was to use some kind of heating technique to make a card or project
to show you the versatility of FCD stamps!

I opted to go for the embossed beach scene from the Mahalo set. I stamped it onto tissue paper with Versamark and then added some black embossing powder. Then heated it up even more to wrap the tissue paper around the candle. What I liked about the effect I got was that the embossing although done in black looks brown on the candle since it was cream to begin with.

So now you have seen what I did how about checking out Vicki's blog to see her take on Heating things up! I can't wait to see myself!...hop hop hop!

Now the card details...
Stamps is from Elemental Doodles Mystic Fairy set and is used on the main image oval as well as on the lower dark purple strip - I couldn't get it to photograph well as it is tone on tone and that purple is kinda dark! The patterned paper is actually some I made called Textured Tape from an older issue of Technique Junkies. I added lots and lots of different sized Basic Grey pearls to this one and I just love the effect it gave! The rhinestone dragonfly was in my stash as were the flowers and the charm center. The sketch I used is from Jacksonbelle Embellishments Tuesday Challenge from this week and you should give it a try too! Great way to show off the focal image and add some pretty patterned paper or some you made yourself like I did!

Floral Spray

ok so I am looking at this now and wondering if I adhered the embossed image upside down? I keep turning it to look at and I just like it better this way but I think it might of been intended to go the other way. What do you think?

The image is from Artful Inkables Wedding Silhouettes set and embossed with Stampendous Pearluster Embossing Powder in Garnet.

This was a simple card using a scrap of patterned paper from my bin and a white card base. I layered the image up after cutting it out with a nestabilitie die and added small rhinestones from Basic Grey.

SCS Color Challenge: Lavender, Banana, Grey, Black & White

my friend Libby posted about the color challenge on SCS last week and while I had time to get a card made I didn't get it uploaded till now but wanted to share with you anyway :)

The stamp is from Artful Inkables Wedding Silhouettes set which I embossed onto white paper from Hollo's. I used a light Copic marker to shade the veil a bit and added some Shimmerz to it also. The colored paper is from Paper Temptress and the grey pearls are from Basic Grey, not sure the other flower one I think Making Memories but not 100% sure. the ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

Raspberry Color Suite Challenge 12

This card is made using colors from the Raspberry Color Suite Challenge #12.
It is also an Anniversary Card for a challenge I am entering at Stampers Quest. I used my Slice to cut the frame, the base the hands are stamped on, the heart and the word Love. Papers are from Paper Temptress (see side bar for link) Pop Tones collection Whip Cream, Sour Apple and Razzle Berry (for the color challenge remember!) I also used some patterned paper from Basic Grey Wassail collection. The stamped image is from Parisian Romance by FireCracker Designs by Pamela. I colored with Copic Markers (E00, E21, E51 & E53) I also used my white Sakura gel pen to color the pearl bracelet in. The flower is a Prima which I traced the edges with Stickles StarDust and then added a heart shaped rhinestone to the center. Hope you enjoy it!

Sad Sally Songbird OSW card

Another of the OSW cards using Sad Sally Songbird from Lindy's Stamp Gang.
She is just too stinkin' cute! I added some flowers from both Prima and Queen & Co to the corner of the image and all coloring was done with the Copic Markers. Mat the layers and there you go another card! I have a great stash of cards ready to go from doing the OSW but I find I tend to get stuck on the same colors and also the same stamp companies LOL so I better brach out a little or everyone will be getting similar cards from me!

By The Sea

The technique used here is called Crayon Resist and I was recently reminded of it by GinaK through her Stamp TV site. If you don't visit there you should :) She has s9ome awesome tutorials and many are done with video to show you step by step. Visual is good in my book!

The stamps used come from Artful Inkables set called A Friendly Light it is a great set for by the sea themed cards.

Paper is from Hollo's and some Gumdrop Green Pop Tones from Paper Temptress. I added a wooden anchor to the corner and some ribbon from RRR to the card too.

When I was sponging on color I somehow picked up a bit of the black that I had stamped with (even though it had sat overnight to dry!) but it ended up in the sky and then looked a bit like clouds throughout so I left it :) I did notice I should of colored more evenly with my crayon on the sky to block the color from the cloud and lighthouse better though...practice practice practice I guess is the key here! LOL

Happy Anniversary

Paper Craft Planet's Sketch this week SK071109 was for a No Layer card. remember when we all were starting and all we did was stamp on the paper fold and off we go. Well most of us start that way anyway. It is sometimes nice to go back to simple. I had a hard time with that - I kept wanting to grab some embellies and add some ribbon and so on - finally I had to remove the card from the work area and set it for photo-ing or I knew I wouldn't leave it alone! LOL I choose my colors from 365 Cards Say 136 Challenge What is Black, White and Red All Over?

I hope you like the simple and just a touch of red I used for this Anniversary card. Inside I stamped I Love You. All stamps are from FireCracker Designs By Pamela's Parisian Romance and With a Flourish sets.

My paper on this one is called Sweet Tooth Pop Tones and is from Paper Temptress.

Rockin' Anya

Sketch is the Friday Sketch from Amy at Prairie Paper & Ink AMYRS71.
Color Combo is from Stamp Something SS071009
Image is from the Greeting Farm and colored with Copic Markers.
Added some Ribbon and a few glitter dots.

The dots around my image are based on something I saw Alicia (GinaK's daughter) do on one of her colored Manga drawings. I liked the effect and for this Rockin' Anya I thought it went well!

I also ran the piece of the circle through the cuttlebug with the dots A2 Embossing folder to tie the circles together a bit more. I used my Nestabilities to cut the ovals out that the Anya and the scalloped layer for matting.

Red Rooster

See this rooster running off with my time?!?!?!?
Send him back please I need my time back I have no idea where it has gone!

I totally feel like my days have run off and I am not getting accomplished what I want/need to and before I know it time to crawl into bed each night.
Ughhhhhh I don't really care for that feeling at all!

The rooster I used is from Run Away Rooster's Gang - Lindy's Stamp Gang
I colored with Copic Markers used some Layers of paper and some BG Rhinestones and that was pretty much it. Hope you enjoy and please remember to send me my time back if you find it!

Elegant Lady

Check out this beauty from FireCracker Designs by Pamela. She is from the Women In Character set. What an elegant looking lady she is. I wanted an elegant looking card to go with her so I went with simple touches like the Prima flower with the fuzzy center brad(Making Memories), a scalloped border (Fiskars - Threading Water) to the paper, some ribbon and a little flourish cut from my Slice.

The Whipped Cream and Hot Fudge papers are Pop Tones from paper Temptress, the pink is from Hollo's. I cut the swirl from Whipped Cream and then used my R22 Copic to color it to match the cream ribbon and pearls (Basic Grey) I had also colored.

I am having fun playing with this set of stamps and will be sharing more with you throughout the month...be sure to stop over at FireCrackers Designs and check it out! Also watch for the new single stamps that Pamela is releasing!

Ok so the little clip picture was also to show you all some of the details from the card I am sharing today. Notice the patterned paper - Basic Grey! Love it! The embossed paper - I made it with the Fiskar's texture template and colored it with the Y28 Copic marker! ooops I colored them embossed though! The coloring on my flower was done by swiping my colorless blender Copic through the B45 I had scribbled onto a piece of acetate. The ribbon was colored with the YG03 to match the other coloring on the flower stem. Lastly I did a little out of the box technique on the top of the flower.

This card is also for 4 different challenges this week. it is the FCDSketch15 from Pamela, it uses the Copic Color Challenge colors from this week, The Next Level challenge was Buttons & Bows and finally the Belli Challenge was to use Texture.

This is from The Colonel's Gang stamp set from Lindy's Stamp Gang. I wanted little yellow ducks to go with my Swiss Cheese. I colored all with Copic Markers. added some Magic Mesh and some Basic Grey pearls and used another one of the OSW layouts for the card. They layering paper is again the Hot Fudge Pop tones from Paper Temptress have to have some chocolate to go with the cheese you know! he he

Beautiful

This beautiful woman is from FireCracker Designs by Pamela Women in Character set. I think she is both mysterious looking as well as beautiful. I added a little rhinestone to her headpiece in the center of the heart to give her a little sparkle too. The flowers are cut from my Slice and the centers are fuzzy brads from Creative Imaginations.

This is another of my OSW cards and I added the second patterned paper to it for a variance.
