Another Year Candle

What a fun set the Another Year is from TAC (T1030) This one used the cupcake with the candle and I stamped it onto cream paper and used some Copic markers to coordinate the ribbon to the Basic Grey Recess paper I had matted it on. I used a little bit of clear Spica glitter pen to accent the cupcake liner portion. It is a fun card and I do hope the person I sent it to liked it :) Again sorry I was late in mailing it to you … the envie was ready to go just not the card due to my camera issues!

Flower Pin

I made this lovely Prima flower into a pin for my Mom for her birthday.  I thought it was enough to stand alone so I simply matted some Basic Grey Porcelain paper onto a card base and then added the pin to it. I really like the the pinks and greens in the paper and how it goes so well with the flower.

Here is the full card. I added the rhinestones in the corner cause it needed a little sparkle LOL!

Age is a high price to pay!

 

ha ha – isn’t that so true :)  Ok well I thought it was pretty funny anyway and I am pretty sure the person I am sending it will too :)  It is from the Birthday Wishes set by FCD.

This card is on such pretty shimmery pink paper but I couldn’t seem to capture it very well despite taking numerous pictures so you just have to trust me on this one!  The patterned paper is also pinks and soft blues but for some reason the camera captures it a little more harshly :(  Please Christmas people if you are listening I NEED a new camera!

Anyway that was the inside above with the sentiment and some semi-circles of the  Basic Grey Lemonade paper added on.

This is the front of the card and I just love the bold flower with the pretty print of this paper.  I found a Euphoria Basic Grey brad that matched pretty well and I used it as the flower center.  That Prima flower is actually a teal color and fades to white in the center. Gorgeous! That cool wavy ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon – love their ribbon!

I made this Faux Wood card from a TJ technique to send to my November Just One partner.  I really liked how the stamps from Happy the Hedgehog set FireCracker Designs has worked for the nails on it.  I also used the ladybug from this set to add to the top with the cloth flowers I found on my desktop.  Sentiment is from Fall Quotes. Hope everyone has a terrific day!

Hoppy Holiday’s

So this cute frog begged me to add a little polar white flower soft to his hat so I did and well, I think it looks ok LOL! SO yay Karyn I have found 2 things to use the flower soft for now :) he he

I used stamps from the MistleToad set and my Copic Markers to make the background on this one and then I stamped the frog onto green paper stamped part onto red paper for the hat and paper pieced it together. Then I matted it onto black to add a little shadowing effect.

I paper pieced on the wording too by adding the red blocks onto what I stamped on green for the sentiment.

This is a fun set to work with and I like how the cards are turning out…one more for my Christmas card pile :)

Isn’t this a great sketch!  When I saw it at Got Sketch I knew I wanted to try it with the fun Christmas papers from my Debbie Mumm mat stack!  I used my Slice to cut the snowflakes and the tag shape on the front.  I am slowly but surely getting my Christmas cards done :)  Bout time I know!

Stamp used is from the Christmas Phrases I from FireCracker Designs. There are some really great sentiments in this set but the Believe in the Magic of Christmas one is my favorite!

There are so many things one can be thankful for and I am thankful for my friends :) I happened to be thinking of one in particular when I sat down to make this card and I don't think I can ever tell her enough how thankful I am for her friendship :)

this gorgeous Debbie Mumm paper went perfectly with the Fall Quotes and Tumbling Scarecrow images that I used. After stamping the apple and the acorn I colored them and used my Versamarker pen and clear embossing powder to give some glossiness and depth to them. The ribbon is a pretty one from Really Reasonable Ribbon and the paper is from Paper Temptress Pop Tones it is called Gumdrop Green.

Sorry it is a tad blurry I had to use the scanner as I am still cameraless and since it has a little depth it doesn't sit flush on the scanner screen. While I was thinking of Thank Yous I knew I wanted to make a couple for sending after the holiday's too so when I saw this color combo at the Color Throwdown #69 and this sketch from Truly Scrumptious Sketch 20 I wanted to give combining them a try. Ok plus I just wanted to play with my Christmas stamps ~ I admit it! I grabbed my Holly Jolly Christmas set and using the Jack In the box and the cool yo-yo I made this Thank You card.

I hope you enjoyed my Thank You cards...I can't wait to see what everyone else did! Remember this is a “circular blog hop” where the beginning is wherever you start!! You will know you are at the end of your blog hop when you’ve come back to the blog you’ve started from!

Candy Cane Christmas

Isn't this guy pretty cute? I think so clinging to his candy cane like that!

What do you think about these paper color names from Paper Temptress too Red Hot and Jelly bean Green? Perfect holiday ones aren't they?

Working on some Christmas cards - seems I never get my act together in time and am always doing them last minute. Oy!

Friends are Flowers

PaperCrafts Magazine had a sketch challenge for one of their upcoming issues and I had submitted this but it wasn't chosen so I wanted to share it with you all :)

I used Elemental Doodles Garner of Friends set with some paper from Basic Grey's JuneBug 6x6 pad to make this card. I ran the center yellow through my cuttlebug to get a bit of texture with the Swiss Dots embossing folder. It was a fun card and is super bright and cheery :)

Toad-Ally Kool

I know seriously where have I been...I wish I had a really good answer but sadly it is here I am just having a rough time right now and the creative juices are not really flowing well. Lot of worry and although I know it doesn't do much good actually it harms more I have had a hard time putting it away and concentrating on other things. I also had been working on some things to submit to get published sadly the notification date has come and gone so I will start sharing those things too this week.

Did you all know that Pamela posted another card sketch (FCD017) this week and of course I had to try it out and use my new MistleToad stamps :) So here is a close up of my toad first. I colored him with Marvy Wet Look Embossing markers and then of course used clear embossing powder over him. Then see the cool puff the White Liquid Applique did for his hat ball and trim! I love that!

Then I used my Palette Inks to edge and stipple the circles I had stamped wording onto. In the back you will notice I used the toad prints with Versamark and embossing powder to make my own design on the card front! Here is the entire card to see. So remember you can see the sketch {here} and give it a try yourself also, we would love to see what you create with it.

This set is called MistleToad and is one hot tamale err I mean one hot set of stamps! LOL Pamela has only 2 sets so be sure to get yourself there and order before they are sold out!

Sweet Pea Guest DT Project #2

I cropped a close up again for you to see the wonderful shimmer of the paper. I have this one marked as just Sparkly White although I know it is also from Paper Temptress I can't find what line...boo...so sorry.

Again the image was fun to color and I loved being able to fade the colors together but yet show a definite dark to light change. I choose also to add small pearls to some of the bubbles around her as well as to the lower right hand corner. The scallop edge was made using the Fiskars Threading Water punch.

Sweet Pea Guest DT Project #1

Here is a project I have been working on with the new
Fantasty Art release stamps from Sweet Pea Stamps.

The artist is ching-chou kuik and the images comes from Plate 20. It was fun to color and you can vary the colors to make it look like a totally different image each time!

This set was just released and already I have seen several different cards and projects. I choose to make a notebook. I used coasters sprayed with Purple Haze Scent-A-Mist for my cover pages. I trimmed white paper inside and rounded the corners off then got my BIA out and made the booklet. The spectacular part is not only is the cover all sparkly but make the picture bigger and you will see the wonderful shimmer on the paper I used to stamp and color the image on. It really brings it to life! This is the Cosmic Coloring paper from Paper Temptress and if you haven't tried it you will love it!
This picture really shows the shimmer well!

I also added a bit of Crystal Lacquer to the stars and candle for a little more dimension.

so do you like it? Using my BIA is a challenge to me so I don't do it often but I am pretty pleased with how this one came out!

Be Naughty Penguin Tag

I was determined I was going to get a project that used the Flower Soft done
that passed the ok to share test! I finally did! I can't tell you how many went in the "round file"

so here is a close up of some of the area I used the Polar White Flower Soft on. Doesn't it make a fantastic trim for the hat and the ball on top?!?!? Well I think it does :)

Do you remember this guy that Pamela released last Christmas the Be Naughty Penguin?

I think he is fun to use and this chipboard tag was begging to be altered a bit
so I grabbed the penguin and started to play. After I put the sparkly Debbie Mumm Christmas Paper on I sanded the edges a bit to make it smooth too.

This is what I ended up with a nice sturdy tag that I think I am actually going to use as a tree ornament or maybe a tree ornament gift for someone this year :)

Seek His Light

I wanted to play with a couple challenges and my new stamps so I checked out Artful Sentiments by Kimm BT who always has color challenges and this week the colors were: This weeks Copic Challenge Colors are: YR04, Y15, W5 (or any shade of warm gray) and then I saw Kazan's Sketch 38 plus I had challenged the girls on the FCD DT to use vellum on their cards so I threw them all tgether and made a non traditional Christmas card. What do you think?

This is the new stamp set called Shepherd Snow Family.

I wish you could see the paper I stamped and colored on it is sparkly and adds a wonderful touch to this card. You can see the sparkle even through the coloring which I love! I know I have talked about the paper before but hop over to Paper Temptress and check it out - you can even get a sample if you like before you buy it but I am telling you it is awesome paper, Copics color beautifully on it and the shimmer it adds to your work is amazing! Hoppy Birthday!

I did it was my birthday!

This time of year is actually chock full of birthday's in my family so I am working to get ahead on cards and here is one I made with a great new digital image from FireCracker Digital Designs.

I had such fun coloring and shading him I wanted to show you up close
but look below and here is the entire image.

Isn't he adorable! I love it and was thrilled that Pamela also sent me a digital colored image of him for my birthday greeting yesterday!

Here I used Copic Markers to color and then did a little out of the box technique with the hat and a little of the cupcake frosting. I used some festive scraps of paper to make the background and to cut a few flowery type shapes with my Slice to add to the card front. I used pearls from Queen & Co. on them also.

Sweet Pea in Paris

If you didn't know already I have some good news to share :) I was asked to be a Guest Designer for Sweet Pea Stamps for the month of November!

I was playing around with one of the images I have from there and this is the card I ended p with. Yep using the scraps that were on the desk top...this was the last of the mesh stuff I had out from last months blog hop challenge LOL!

I did a little stamping on the flower with the Paris image too following the Pretties tutorial from Technique Junkies except NOT adding the edging coloring to it. I adhered 2 Prima's together with a making Memories fuzzy brad and then some fun striped ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

I can't wait to share more with you - I am waiting on my stamps to arrive from their awesome new release!
