Frog in a storm

Picture 051

A couple weeks ago I won this fabulous image from Hambo Stamps blog for their One and Done Auction. I think he is super cute :)

Every Thursday they have an auction for an image that will be yours and no one else’s if you win!

With his scarf and hat I figured he must be in a snowstorm so I ran a piece of gold cs through the cuttlebug then sanded the flakes to reveal a bit of white, colored my frog with Copics and Sakura Metallic's and then added him to the snowstorm!

What do you think?

flower fairy

 Picture 066

I was going through the huge stack of stamped off images I had and putting ones together that I had pairs of and I came across this cutie!  I colored her and then trimmed and layered her up with pop dots. Added a bit of Stickles to her wings and then cut a bit of Just Chillin paper from Making Memories to let her float across the tops of the flowers.  I decided to add green Fiskar Rain Dots to the centers of the flowers to bring out the green from the Just Chillin striped paper I added to the background.  It is a fun bright card! Oh can you see the little rhinestone in her bow too?!?!?  LOL

Giroids?

Picture 006

My friend Cat drew these images she called Giroids which has since led to her becoming a DigiD for FireCracker Designs by Pamela! How cool is that! The original images cracked me up so I figured I would play around a bit with them and this one is a blue/green color! I mean come on they can be anything I want them to be right? I am thinking of I am so blue at forgetting your birthday or something? I left the inside blank for now until I decide what I want to use it for!

For this card I printed him on some Cosmic Coloring paper from Paper Temptress and layered on some of her Limeade Pop Tone paper too. I added the patterned paper from TAC called Fruitti Fusion Colored with Copic Markers and added the Really Reasonable Ribbon to the side. I also dabbed the edges of the papers with a little Palette ink in Chartreuse. The sketch is from Sketches {by tamara} #103

Be sure to check out Cat’s designs for FCD on the Digital page. Your gonna love the new Giroid and also the Manaone, Manatwo and Manathree!

TAC Tuscany Spice paper was printed as well as white then paper pieced together to make this card.

Copics and Spica Clear pen to add color and sparkle  to the wings.

Inside I made a pocket with a pull out insert that can be used to write a short love note or perhaps make a coupon to give to someone special.

You Make My Heart Swirl

 Picture 064

Pamela has some super new Valentine/Heart themed sets that will be in stock this week.  This is another card I made using one of the sets called Heart Strings it is gorgeous with hearts and swirls and dots… So So So many things you can use this for too not just Valentines but think Anniversary’s, I Love Yous, Wedding Cards…

For this card I used a scrap of Bo-Bunny paper to layer the image on and I had colored with Copic markers and gone over it with my Clear Spica pen. It is so glittery in person but no matter what I try I can’t seem to capture that with the camera :(

I cut the sentiment with my round punch and then tucked it under the edge and adhered it with some matching pink brads. I choose to mount it on a blue card base and I love how it set the soft pink off!

Again I couldn’t wait to share with you all so had to make another post for the day…I might have to do that tomorrow too LOL!  Just too many goodies all at once I guess!

Splish Splash!

Picture 045 Once again since I was printing digi images the other day I wanted to make full use of my paper so I printed a few of this one of those and one of these too :) This particular image is from Charmed Cards & Crafts it is a free try it before you buy image and I thought it was cute! I choose to use the top cloud area as her hair flying all around her, not so sure now about that but oh well :)

We are a little splish splash right now as the ice is melting off in the day and then refreezing at night. Makes for some treacherous driving at times! Yesterday in fact I awoke to a THUNDERSTORM! In January? What is that about? This wonky weather I never know what to expect when I get up each day and for that matter what is happening in the AM isn't always the same as in the PM!

I used Copics to color her as well as Spica for her boots and some of the dress. I used some Crystal Lacquer on the puddle and droplets to give them that watery look. I ran the bottom cs through my cuttlebug and then added a bit of ric rac across the top of the dividing line. Matted the image using a corner punch to keep it there and left it blank inside for now…can always add a sentiment later when I need or want to use the card!

Waz Up?

Picture 001_renamed_6496

I know I don’t normally post multiple times in a day but I just couldn’t wait to share a card I made with one of the designs from FCD’s latest DigiD :) her name is Cat Gondek and she is a super lady and friend of mine too :) I am so LuCkY!

This is called a Giroid and you can get your own copy here it is a digital stamp. So cool cause you can size it to what you want! Print multiples or color using your paint or other art programs if you choose to!

I 3D’d this a bit and used Prisma Water Color Pencils to color it, Copics on the Flowers and a bit of Palette Ink for the cloudy sky look. I simply fringed a strop of green for the grass overlay at the bottom! Isn’t it great! A fun card for getting in touch with a friend you may not have spoken to for awhile!

ETA: This Fits the Stamp Something challenge "Funny Somethings" I think so I have linked it there also :)

LoveMug

Picture 055

LoveMug is what I think this stamp ought to be called but Melisa Waldorf the creator of this FireCracker Designs digital image calls it: Warm My Heart.

I used scraps of paper from my stash and colored the mug with Copics and then used my Versamarker and clear embossing powder on parts of it.  I used my clear Spica pen to color over the hearts and circles to add a bit of shimmer…it is next to impossible to photo that – sorry!

Finished the corner off with some red brads.

Happy Monkey Day…

err I mean birthday yeah Happy Birthday!

I made this card for my SIL whose birthday was last weekend.  I love this little monkey guy I had stamped a few of him off at a friends a long while back and decided to color and pop up parts of him. I ended up with a cute little guy swinging from the tree who had empty hands which just doesn’t work so I supplied him with a Queen & Co chipboard balloon that I had covered with paper!

Picture 062

2 guesses where the paper came from?

need a hint?

Lime Ricky!

Yep you got it Basic Grey!  I just love their paper!  If I could buy a lifetime stock of all new releases…oh the thought just makes me smile!

I used a sketch from Paper Makeup Stamps Makeup for the Weekend #11 They always have a sketch up and I enjoy them, just never seem to get to them in time LOL!

Here is what the entire card looks like.  The brown paper is Paper Temptress Pop Tones Hot Fudge. Love Love Love this paper too!  sigh if only I could have it all!

FCD Reduce Reuse Recycle Blog Hop

The official start time of this Hop is Friday, January 21, 2010 @ 8:00 AM (EST).

If you arrived early, please be patient as all the links may not be live yet.

Picture 039

I have to admit I stole this clever idea from my friend Anna. It uses a Crystal Light container and the ones inside too! I repurposed it to hold some trinkets and goodies for a stamper/scrapper.

I used some blue paper I got from Joann’s a gazillion years ago to cover the container and also to punch some circles out to use on the “lids” Coordinated it with a bit of brown and found just enough Really Reasonable Ribbon that had both colors to use on top and bottom of the container to mask the slightly uneven edges of covering the paper had done. Seems I had a bit of an issue with cutting a straight line LOL!

Picture 040

The small inner containers were filled then I applied glue to the tops and pressed the new lids onto them. I had trouble with them adhering so I turned them upside down onto my craft mat and put something on them overnight for pressure. Worked great they were firmly stuck to the craft mat! It was easy to peel them off though and then I just rubbed the edges to get rid of the excess glue. I used the new Cherish You digital by new designer Melisa Waldorf on the outside of the stamp, it was colored with Copics and Sakura pens then I added some clear embossing over parts using my VersaMark pen and also added some stickles to the bow centers. I decided I wanted more shimmer to it and added some Angel Wings Shimmerz also to the main heart image.

Remember this is a “circular blog hop” where the beginning is wherever you start!! You will know you are at the end of your blog hop when you’ve come back to the blog you’ve started from!

(It’s not a huge circle…so it should be easy to remember where you started.)

**To find out if you’ve won… you will be contacted via e-mail (so be sure to leave it with your comment.) and you can also find out on the blogs after the blog hop ends on Mon, January 24, 2010 at 8:00 PM (EST).**

Now, to continue the circle, you will need to hop on over to Pamela’s blog and keep going until you’ve come back to where you’ve started!

You’ve got my heart on a string

Pamela from FireCracker Designs has come out with some gorgeous new stamp sets just in time for Valentines too! This card uses the set called Heart Strings and makes for a quick and lovely designed Valentine for that special someone in your life!

Picture 043

I colored with Copic markers then overdid with my VersaMark pen and used clear embossing powder to give the color some sheen to match the sparkly card base I used.  I cut and mounted the sentiment on pop dots below the heart on the strings.

If you hurry you might be able to still get in on the pre-order of this set (and others there too!) sorry for the delay in posting the last week has gotten away from me!

Be sure to stop back tomorrow as the FCD DT monthly blog hop is back and you never know what treats might be in store along the way!

Stampers Quest January Sketch Challenge

SQ-January Sketch (469 x 600)

I am so honored to have been asked to be a Guest Designer for Stamper’s Quest this month and I opted to play in the January (Sketch) Map too.

I love the bright Paper Temptress Banana Split paper paired with some Basic Grey Porcelain. Added a bit of lace fiber I had laying around and some Queen & Co pearls.

The stamps are from FireCracker Designs by Pamela Parisian Romance stamp set – perfect for Valentines, which I am trying to stock up on.  I colored the hands after stamping them onto some of the light yellow Porcelain paper in the Basic Grey pad. It gave a bit of depth and you can see the slight variegated coloring when you look close.

Take some time to check Stampers Quest out there is a lot of great info for stampers/crafters from beginners to advanced!

Glittering Snowflakes

 Glittery Snowflakes

Chin Up is what hooked me on FireCracker Designs by Pamela.  I just think he is adorable!  So many uses for him too not just for holiday cards! He is great for catching glittering snowflakes like this, great for other crafty items too - which I will share soon. Fun for a birthday card and a Just Because card too!

This time I stamped him on some blue polka dot paper from CTMH, used my Sakura Gelly Roll White to “color” him in some, added some Orange Sakura to the nose, some Purple and Blue Metallic to the scarf.  I then applied the glittery Snowflake rub ons from MAMBI – I love them!

Have a glittering snowflake kind of day!

FCD Challenge #13

The FireCracker Designs Team regularly has challenges and although this one is past I did play along :)

We had a picture for inspiration :

chocolate-cake-sl-1687590-x

Now doesn’t that look scrumptious?!?!?

I sure think so!

Now here is the card I made:

FCD Challenge 13

I used the Thanks from the Elephants on Parade stamp set and then used cut pieces of white glossy adhered to a brown card base. I added the ribbon (Really Reasonable Ribbon) and bow for my spot of red (strawberries in the picture) and had a pretty simple thank you card ready to go.  Inside I adhered red cardstock to the top and bottom to add a little more stability to the card and also to hold the ribbon in place.

Your Birthday?

Imagine That!  LOL yeah I am late in sending this one but it it the thought that counts right?  I hope so.

Birthday Snowman

I used the snowman from  FireCracker Designs Snow Decorate My Tree stamp set, some Copic markers, a bit of Basic Grey’s Eskimo Kisses paper, some Paper Temptress Jellybean Green and Cotton Candy Pop Tones paper, My Cuttlebug with some chalk for definition and a great sketch from Paper Make-Up Stamps to make this card.

  Birthday Snowman 1

I didn’t want the star in his hand so I added some white snowflake brads to the front to make it more a wintery look instead of a tree decorating look.

Polka Dot Fun

Crazy for Challenges this week used Polka Dots and also happened to be sponsored by Innovative Stamp Creations which I really like so I decided to play along :) Plus the stamps I have from there are mostly floral so I could think about something other than the yukky weather we are having right now!

 Crazy For Challenges

I stamped the polka dots and the flowers from the Flowers & Elements FAE3-06 Stamp Set with Memento Ladybug Ink.  I then spritzed the flowers with Shimmerz Baby’s Breath before cutting them out.

I used the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots to carry the polka dot theme over to the Black Magic Spell Caster Paper.

Crazy For Challenges 1

You can see here how I doubled up the flower to give the petals some more depth too.  This is a great technique I find myself turning to a lot lately.

The ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

Hope you enjoy and participate too if you can.

Another Year Candle!

 Another Year Candle Close Up

Today is my friends birthday and although I wasn’t on the ball to get her a card out on time , no wait since I like to be fashionably late in sending my cards I thought I would share an on time happy birthday wish with her via my blog today :)

HB Fran!

This is actually one of the cards that I put into my Mom’s Christmas gift that I shared yesterday.  More of that Awesome Bo-Bunny double sided Heart Throb Stripe Paper!  Don’t you just love it?!?! I paired it with some fun striped paper I had picked up at Joann’s too.

Another Year Candle Cupcake

The bear image is a digital from Polly Craft Designs that I colored with Copic Markers and then also added some stickles to the cupcake frosting. Yummm!

Card Holder Box

Card Box - Empty

My mom loves to use the hand made cards and I have to admit I am not always timely in giving her a new stash so I thought if I made a box for them she could give me BIG hints when the box was empty and lonely so I would get on the ball and refill it for her. Well no one said the thing would be so stinking cute empty that well …I know no excuses but seriously look at it! This is GORGEOUS Bo-Bunny Heart Throb double sided paper. The box itself is made from one sheet of 12 x 12 paper and then you can decorate as desired. I added some ribbon at the top over a piece of white that I had used my Fiskars Threading Water punch on and then I added some great thin white ric-rac to the bottom over which I adhered 2 Prima flowers that I had put together with a fuzzy brad.

Card Box

Inside I added some cards that I had made with coordinating paper, see a sneak peak of one that I will share with you tomorrow there LOL!

There is no stamping on this card holder box although I am sure in the decorating stage you could add whatever stamping you wanted to it.

now I am sure several of you are going ok what is the pattern this is cool? I am also. I’ll be darned if I can’t find the link I marked nor the paper I printed out with the score and cut info on it. Soooo I do know I got this from a fellow blogger and I followed her template – can anyone please help me with locating it again so I can share with my readers and can make more myself! Please pretty please!

A tale of 3 penguins

Well I am sure you remember me teasing you on this post about more penguins right?  I couldn’t make you wait any longer so TaDa a tale of 3 penguins…

Once upon a time there lived in a drawer a cute orange container. If you lift the lid the delightful penguins smile and grin at you making you want to take them out and ink them up!  LOL

so I am not the best story writer but these guys are so cute I had to do something with them this year since for some reason they didn’t seem to make it onto my Christmas cards.  I had won a blog something or another a long time ago and received these frames and glass slides (Ink Essentials) so I figured that it was a perfect combination to put them and the penguins together to get a delightful set of ornaments!

Penguin Ornaments

I love the 4th penguin in the set also but his scarf was a little too fluffy and wild to fit into the slide space so he will have to make an appearance another time! I colored with Copic Markers and Spica pens. I edged the papers with some ink and the backs are done with a little bit of the Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses paper scraps I had left over from all the other holiday card making I had been doing.

Penguin Ornaments with Box

I served the little fella’s up in a fun Chinese take out box that was also from Basic Grey (Sorry can’t recall the line I bought it many years ago and forgot to save the paper edge with the info)

So hope you like them and what a fun idea this was – I will be keeping my eye out for sales on the frames so I can make a few more sets of these for next year also!

Happy New Year!
