FCD & PT Present Open Roads

Are you ready for this month’s blog hop…I guess I am (shrugging)

Something exciting this month is that for this week and next week we have paired up with Paper Temptress to offer you some exciting cards and samples to ogle over! Pamela’s fantastic stamps and Patricia’s gorgeous papers! Can’t go wrong there! We have a couple of extra hoppers this round from her design team and our guest DT and guest DigiDT are playing too! Grab a drink and join us for some fun! Same as always it is a round style hop wherever you begin is where you end so it is simple to remember! Let’s get going…

The challenge this month was to share our favorite Traveling Tunes with you all. Well I have to admit my taste in music is more towards oldies and some musicals when I am in the car. Unless I am having one “of THOSE days” and I tend to blare some great 80’s rock songs. The first song I thought of is one from Smokey Joe’s Cafe called Spanish Rose in Harlem but can you believe I do not own Pamela’s fabulous Paper Roses :( So now I am stuck! THINK THINK THINK … SEARCH SEARCH SEARCH…I come up with a list of songs I might be able to work with and then my mind is a complete blank! I have no idea how to execute the idea in my head!

This is what I ended up with, inspired by several phrases from songs that kept popping into my head after my searching… let’s see if you can guess any of them… (read the PSS for the answers)

kc~June Blog Hop

This uses stamps from 3 different sets: Little Things, Just Breathe (Again) and Sweet Child of Mine. Happy Hopping!

Blog Candy for this month is extra special :) It includes a FREE stamp set (Pamela’s choice) OR you can pick 2 digi’s you like from the store PLUS it includes the fabulous June paper pack from Paper Temptress !!! Remember to leave comments on ALL of the blogs as we have no idea who the mystery hostess is from which the winner will be drawn! Winner will be announced on Monday night 8 PM-ish (ET) on Pamela’s blog!

Your next stop is Anita, one of the Paper Temptress Design Team gals!

I have a hard time with these music challenges and no fair that Ursula picked one and then couldn’t play due to some personal things going on SOOOOOOO I think Ursula owes us ALL a great musical ditty once she get’s her craftiness back on and ready to go! What do you think????

hugs,

Signature

P.S. I am aware I didn’t use PT paper on this card I was really struggling with this theme and just started grabbing things out of my scrap bin :( I do however have SEVERAL posts coming at you next week showing off some of the fabby papers and how well they go with FireCracker Designs by Pamela stamps! so keep your eyes peeled!

P.S.S. The songs were:

Chuck Barry ~ No Particular Place to Go

Willie Nelson ~ On the Road Again

John Denver ~ Take Me Home Country Roads

yeah I think I’ll stick with my Spanish Rose in Harlem! LOL

if you do not have paper that you need for a card why can't you just stamp it with a stamp and ink. make your own so to say for the card. love the challenge.

You can never go wrong when you include a Willie Nelson song. Did you see that he cut his hair? Oh, my! Your card is so sweet and it shows me how not to get stuck and feel I can only use one stamp set. I like that you used three different sets. Thank you so much for your time working with this blog hop for us.

My mind must have been as blank as yours since I didn't guess any of them! Anyhoo, I really like your card. I love scenic cards, so this hop is right up my alley! I must get that set with the child to use in some of my scenes. Love the fall leave colors!
