FCD Romantic Lyric Blog Hop

The official start time of this Hop is Friday, at 8:00 AM (EST). If you arrived early, please be patient as all the links may not be live yet.

Picture 077

Our theme this month was Romantic Lyrics. I had no clue what I was going to do… I know Valentines Day was just past I should of been in the romantic mood already right?!?!?! Should of been easy right?!?!?!

Not so!!!

I was just sitting at the craft table looking at things and decided ‘whatever’ I am just going to make a card and after I was done this song just popped into my head :) You can click the title below for the link to an audio of it (upper right hand side of the page that loads) or I have copied and pasted the lyrics below for you to read.

How Sweet It Is To Be Loved By You ~ James Taylor

“How sweet it is to be loved by you
How sweet it is to be loved by you
I needed the shelter of someone's arms, and there you were
I needed someone to understand my ups and downs, and there you were
With sweet love and devotion
Deeply touching my emotion
I want to stop and thank you baby
I want to stop and thank you baby
How sweet it is to be loved by you
How sweet it is to be loved by you
I close my eyes at night
Wondering where would I be without you in my life
Everything I did was just a bore
Everywhere I went it seems I'd been there before
But you brighten up for me all of my days
With a love so sweet in so many ways
I want to stop and thank you baby
I just want to stop and thank you baby
How sweet it is to be loved by you
How sweet it is to be loved by you
You were better to me than I was to myself
For me, there's you and there ain't nobody else
I want to stop and thank you baby
I just want to stop and thank you baby
How sweet it is to be loved by you
How sweet it is to be loved by you”

How Sweet of You

This used Pamela’s new set Got Chocolate? I really like the versatility of this set. For the card I used the sentiment and the truffles, hmmm what flavor are they I wonder? I colored them with copic markers (E33 & E37) and used one on the patterned paper and the other I pop dotted up from the frame over the words that was also pop dotted up from the base card. I added a touch of polka dot ribbon and then some white fuzzy brads to the corners of the frame. The paper was just a scrap I had in my stash I am not sure where it is from but I thought the snowflakes were appropriate since we have an abundance of them of late!

Remember FCD does “circular blog hops” where the only beginning is wherever you start!! You will know you are at the end of your blog hop when you’ve come back to the blog you’ve started from! (It’s not a huge circle…so it should be easy to remember where you started.)

There will be blog candy and the winner will be chosen from a mystery blog hostess when the hop is over…so you’ll want to leave a comment on EVERY blog, so you don’t miss out!

**Winner will be contacted by Pamela via e-mail (so be sure to leave it with your comment.) or you can also find out on Pamela’s blog after the blog hop ends on Mon, at 8:00 PM (EST).**

Now, to continue the circle, you will need to hop on over to Pamela’s blog and keep going until you’ve come back to where you’ve started! Thanks so much for playing along with us and we hope you have a great time!

Heart Wings

  Picture 024

took this shot to show you the depth of the card – I used pop dots under the circle but not the scalloped part and then I pop dotted the wings up some also.

 Picture 025

I took this one to show the shimmer from the Twinkling H2O’s that I used on the heart as well as the Spica pen on the wings.  Cool huh!

And the finished card looks like this :)  I really liked the bold stripe pattern and the red and black together on this one.

Picture 022

The image is from FireCracker Designs by Pamela and is a digital called You Give My Heart Wings.

Mini Purse of Dew Drops

Mini Purse Dew Drops Mini Purse Dew Drops 1

For a few months I was drawing a random blog reader # and sending a small prize out.  I had to put that on hold for a bit, money is just a little too tight right now for us plus a lot going on at home and I was feeling overwhelmed a bit with “obligations” although fun they still weigh me down.  Anywhooo one of the items I had made and inserted into one of the packages was this small purse and it was filled with a package of dew drops in clear so that the recipient could use them or color them to suit their need.

Just came across the pictures and wanted to share with you all :)

XO Heart Swirls

 Picture 008_renamed_3379

Another card I had made for Valentines day using Heart Strings by FireCracker Designs by Pamela. Which I then used Spica pens to color the hearts in and the small circles too.

Some TAC Fruitti Fusion paper and a bit of Really Reasonable Ribbon.

I also used flower brads and topped them with rhinestone hearts to add a little to the upper left side..  The matting paper is from Paper Temptress.

Frog Flakes

 Picture 053 Picture 054

We are anticipating another Winter Storm as I type this it is probably already upon us as this posts in the AM.  I really am wanting to be done with Winter – I don’t like the cold and miserable dull gray days that surround us.  I long for some sun and warmth!

For this card I used my Hambo Stamps One and Done Auction frog again :) I think he is adorable!

For the base of snow I used Polar White Flower Soft and then the flakes are glitter rub–ons that I had in the misc drawer in the craft room.

I colored with Copic Markers and added a bit of Liquid Appliqué to his hat.

Bluebird*Heart*Love

 Picture 007

I am so overwhelmed with all that has been going on lately that my poor blog has landed not just in the back seat forgotten but I fear placed in the trunk out of site out of mind style :(  My apologies to all of you. I have things to share just not had the time to get them written up to share.  Sorry.

Here is another of the digital images that Pamela made called Conversation Heart. I printed it to be ATC size and colored with Copic Markers and then some Twinkling H2O’s which Pamela also has in her store.

XOXO says the Giroid!

 Picture 005

Another ATC using the fabulous Giroid that Cat drew!  Isn’t he funny!  I also used one of the hearts from Melisa’s Warm My Heart digital image and then I stamped the XOXO in it from Parisian Romance.  I used some funky Fiskar Paper Edgers to trim the yellow and then matted it onto some brown paper.  Another fun Valentine – now I need to find where to tuck it in for someone LOL!

Heart Wings ATC

Picture 002

This is one of Pamela’s newest Digital Stamps called Give my Heart Wings. I sized it down to an atc manageable one Printed it onto some cool striped paper from TAC then added it to some black textured paper, colored some ribbon (RRR) to match as well as a bit of thread and then added a page pebble over the word heart. ATC’s are perfect for Valentines that I can slip into pockets or lunches or desk drawers to surprise the ones I love :)

Typical Teen

with a belly button ring… ok well that is what Cat says in this cute little poem about one of her adorable manatees! Have you seen her digital images yet? They are great! You need to get over there and check them out!

Picture 006

This is using Manathree. Isn’t she cute? I also used stamps from Something Fishy from FCD to finish off this ATC. Coloring was done with a combination of pencils, markers and Spica pens.

Mono Dies Technique

 Picture 009

This is my first try at a new technique from the TJ newsletter that just arrived in my mailbox!  It is called Mono Dies.  I like the effect it gave but had a hard time fitting the circles to cover “most” of the front piece LOL!  Like putting a puzzle together with known missing pieces or something!

I also got to try out some of my new Twinkling H2O’s here!  Did you know that FireCracker Designs is now carrying them? Yep you can get them there!

Here is a close up so you can see them in action :)  I wish I could catch the glimmer and sheen better! For this one I used Mango Mamba, Sunset Glo and Sage.

Picture 013

The stamp is a retired TAC one from Sketched Flowers (T-2178).  Ribbon and Ric Rac are from Really Reasonable Ribbon and the cuttlebug pattern is highlighted with my New Canvas Palette Ink.

Falling in Love

Picture 059

I wish I could say my absence has been because I was busy falling in Love all over again but it hasn’t although I have been spending some time with the ones I love!  My cousin came last week and stayed over to the beginning of the week to visit me which was AWESOME! I had not seen her in almost 7 years!  We have to fix that and arrange a visit sooner as I had so much fun with her being here and just hanging out.  Anyway on to the card…

Falling in Love all over again….it is that time of year when people start thinking those things :)  I made a non traditional Valentine out of purples and greens and then over stamped the speckles onto the edges of the top quote and embossed with fine embossing powder in Rose. The stamps are from TAC and I am not sure who makes the paper I found it in a box in my room as I was cleaning things out.
