I know I have been MIA for quite some time and thanks to all of you who are still out there who are still hanging around :) I can't say that the creative bug has bitten again or that I have found my mojo or anything like that but I wanted to say HI and share a picture of some ceramic snowballs I had made for my husband over the winter.

Happy Halloween

I made this card for my best bud Anna :) She loves Halloween and I liked the variation away from the typical orange and black! I did include a little of both of those but it wasn’t the focus and I really like how it looks. No idea who make the image (I actually think I stamped it from Anna’s stash on one of my visits!) But the October 31st is from Teresa Collins. How about that fun Basic Grey paper with the creepy crawlies on it – pretty cool! Did you notice too I cut out at the bottom of the cape to let it flow right into the black. and the sky was sponged on with charcoal grey ink.

Hope you all have a Happy Halloween! We’ll be seeing some family off I imagine and then we have our Sunday dart league today. I don’t live in a residential area so no trick or treating for us.

Floral Wisped Frame

Image is a digital from FireCracker Designs by Pamela and I used Technique Junkies Wisped Frames on the edges. I added some Queen & Co pearls and matted with some colored paper before mounting it on the card base.

Today is my daughter’s wedding I am praying for gorgeous weather and all to go as planned :) Glad to be seeing and spending some time with family who we do not see often enough too!

This image is from FireCracker Designs by Pamela and I colored with Copic Markers. I don’t recall much else about the details here, ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon and used Out of the Box technique again (one of my favorites obviously LOL!)

Tomorrow my daughter is getting married so we will be off and running all day! Today we are too getting the last minute details together and then rehearsal tonight along with setting up in the hall! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

I think the image is from Looby Lou and I colored with with my Marvy Wet Look Embossing Markers (Pastel). Added some scraps of patterned papers I found (using my favorite layout again just a different shape like I had mentioned. I added the clippo and a bit of ribbon to the top since I wasn’t using a sentiment and called it done :)

Happy Birthday Oval

Yes another birthday card and yes another birthday, actually we have a LOT of birthday’s this time of year in my family so I usually am making them in abundance! I am not sure what I am going to do this year since I seem to still have no desire to be crafting new things. :(

FireCracker Designs by Pamela image and colored with Copics and Gelly Roll pens, cut out and mounted up on foam tape above a scrap paper background. I added some of those awesome Queen & Co pearls to the sides too.

Yep today is my brothers birthday! I don’t know yet if this will be his card or not but seeing as I had a birthday card to share and it was his day I picked it :)

This background is another of the Acrylic on Watercolor that I got from Marthy in my Swap-Bot swap. I love the backgrounds she made and was thrilled she was my partner!

The image is from Bugaboo and colored with Copic Markers. Metallic Gelly Roll pens for the balloons to give them some sparkle as well as the hat and horn. I used the Out of the Box from Technique Junkies and then added a green ring I found and some misc. stickers to spell “happy” as well as some faux dew drops to the ring.

I just loved coloring this image from Gingerloft, a beautiful sunset the warm desert and the shadows across the mountain!

I paired it with orange and black papers and matted it on a brown card base. Simple really was mostly coloring and sponging color on straight from the ink pads.

Your How Old Dino?

Pollycraft makes this fun digi image! I colored the dino with shades of blue and added green grass under him. I added some Mermaid Stickles to the balloon on his tail. The background is an Acrylic on Water Color Paper and is another of the ones I received in the Swap-Bot swap I hosted for handmade backgrounds papers and it is an acrylic on watercolor by Marthy, I love the circles and colors she used! The sentiment is from TAC called Another Year T-1030 and I used BMuse Mint Jelly EP to accentuate the word “how” on front.

Fall Flowers

I colored this digital image, Buncha Daisies; from FireCracker Designs by Pamela with my copics blending the orange and yellows together and really like how they turned out.

I added some Basic Grey paper that has a woven pattern to it and layered with some dark chocolate brown, mounted everything onto a great orange-rust card base and then accented it with some golden yellow pearls from Queen & Co. I love the fall colors of this card!

To carry on with the hop your next stop is Hetty :)

Floral Trio

This is the 3rd and final of the cards I made duplicates of. The image is from Stamp It also called Antique Flower Trio. I used some MM Travel paper for the mat and some Really Reasonable Ribbon in green. I again tore the image out and inked the edges with Palette Cognac.

Butterfly Swirl Thank You

This is another of the cards I made duplicates of. As is the case with most of the cards I am sharing these images were ones I stamped off at a friends and did only 2 or 3 of them so figured it was finally time to do something with them :)

For this one I did one of my favorite things to add a little texture to the card – TEAR IT UP! Simple, easy and adds some extra visual oomph! The stamp is from Stamp It, I used sponges to dab Palette Inks on (Chartreuse, Haystack & Lavender) I also added some Shimmering Candlelight H2O’s to the butterfly wings. The sentiment is from TAC – Rose Sentiments T-302.

Butterfly Frame

I made 2 of these butterfly framed cards, I am thinking of putting them with some others I made duplicates of and packaging them up as a gift.

The image is from Stamp It and I used Copics to color it, Smooch Pearlized Top Coat to add some shimmer to the butterfly wings and then I cut the center out & around the outsides then used a nice crackle patterned paper as a background for it.

Butterfly Up and Over

This background paper was one I got in a swap I had hosted on Swap-Bot it was made by Bonny. I like the mix of colors and it reminded me of floating along in a garden. I was attempting to do a Technique Junkies Up and Over but it really didn’t turn out that way BUT the butterfly, from Priscilla Style (Digi) is UP above the flowers and the stems, from Oopsa Daisy by FireCracker Designs by Pamela are OVER the edges so does that still count? LOL I used Gold EP from Inkadinkadoo on the flowers and the edges of the circle around the butterfly. There IS a little out of the “box” technique done too for the ends of the butterflies wings!

Birdhouse Oval

I can’t remember if I shared this with you all before or not and it is in the stack of to be shared cards so I am sharing now – sorry if it is a repeat! Can you see the shimmer of the paper that is from Paper Temptress and it is the copic coloring paper (can’t recall the correct name right now sorry, thin and she specifically says it is good for coloring with them…in case you are looking)

I colored with the Copics then cut it out. I layered onto some paper that I distressed the edges of and I added mini pearls along the upper right curve of the oval. This is one of my favorite layouts and it works for most any shapes you want to use also.

Sorry it has been so long and I don’t find a sticky with the info on it I don’t know who the image is by although I do know it is a digital one.

Another Day at the Beach

Well I didn’t get too many days at the beach this year at all although I sure would of loved to! This image is from FireCracker Designs by Pamela and I added some waves in the background and a shaving cream piece I found in my scraps stash made a perfect sky! The metal embellishment along the bottom says simply everything! If only it were as easily done as it is said!

Did you know too that FireCracker Designs is closing it’s virtual doors on the red rubber portion of things? Right now they are marked down to 50%! Be sure to stop in and see what is still available and get it before it is too late. Pamela is going to keep on with her digi’s but not sure at what pace.

Birthday Bear

This charming little bear in a present is from Designed 2 Delight and doesn’t he just sparkle with the added FireCracker Red Glitter from Sparkle & Sprinkle! I used some Pear Puff from them also on his fur. Just a small scrap of striped paper for the side to set him off and a little Technique Junkies Out of the Box.

Hi friends :) I know I have been away for awhile, I haven’t been much in the crafting mood…lots going on in life, lots of changes some good some not so much. I have finally today got around to cropping and marking some pictures of things I have done “way back when” and one or two that I finally got finished so thought I would pop in and schedule so posts to share with you all.

This image is from Bugaboo and I think he is adorable! I made him for my dh for our Anniversary back in August. I used some Star Dust stickles, Copic Markers, Liquid Appliqué and Sugar Rush paper from Basic Grey.

This adorable Thank You from Tiddly Inks is fun to color. Her hair is just perfect for trying out various shading methods. This time I used a brown on her hair and had light coming in from several area’s – maybe too much? idk I liked it though so went ahead and turned her into a card! I found the base made up in a stash with layer of leaves already on it so I simply matted and added the girl and the sentiment (from TAC) .

I did a little of the Wisped Frames technique from TJ too. Inside I added a white layer, wisped frames on it too and stamped “you’re so thoughtful” (from TAC)

Mini Card Drawer

I saw a tutorial {here} for an adorable box with cards inside. It actually is like a little drawer and one could make it multiple layers and divide the drawers up by type of cards (ty, baby, wedding…) to make a great addition to anyone’s gift wrapping station! I started off with just one though cause I wanted to see how “easy” they were to assemble and how they looked. I love it! The cards inside need envies yet as I don’t have any that size (3” x 3”)and need to figure out a way to make some)

TO the top I added a matching die cut shape (Slice)to what I used on the cards and also a paper flower. So what do you think? If you try the tut yourself I would love to see your results too. The sentiments are from TAC Just Because set and I left the insides of the cards blank so that the gift giver can write in them.

Birthday Bear

Designed 2 Delight is where this cute bear is from. It was one of the weekly freebies from Faith. I used it on a card with some funky stripes and dots and then added the large chipboard balloon which I colored purple and covered with some Smooch to have it be all glittery fun! The wire ribbon was added for some depth and I opted to go with a lady bear in pink LOL!

I think it would be a fun card for a little girl’s birthday!

Wanna Drink?

he he isn’t he scary! I don’t think you ought to be accepting that bubbling drink from him but then again it might be pretty delicious!

This image is from PollyCraft and is actually called Beer Monster but I don’t much care for beer so I colored over the shirt with metallic pen…had I been thinking I could of erased it prior to printing it since it was a digital image LOL but yeah like I said HAD I BEEN thinking :) I also added some puff paint to the foam on the drink and I played with the eyes too! I used a tube from PSP that I had with eyes and manipulated them to cover the other ones and add another dimension of fun to this image.

Just Another Clucking Day!

This was last weeks d2d image and like I said the other day I didn’t even make the wire for getting it posted on my blog but I did post it at Crafters Digital Art Center. Now I am finally getting a chance to share it here. This ISN’T one of the sayings included it was just the kind of day I was having when I made it LOL! It did meet the Double Delight challenge too which was to pop it up.

I added a bit of lace that I had colored to match along the bottom using red line tape to hold it in place on each end then just pinching and pushing it onto the tape to “ruffle” it some.

I used a wax paper resist (TJ) to make the awesome sky background. Added a bunch of small and mini Prima flowers off to the side and a flowery ribbon to set the scene off. I mean when it rains the flowers do come out right?

Frog on a Pot

Isn’t this guy cute! He is just hanging out in the garden 0n an upturned pot! I love his expression and the cute flowers he has. I added a Queen & Co pearl to the center of each. I paired him with some Basic Grey Sugar Rush papers, a bit of Palette Orangerie ink and a cool bee button I found floating around in my goodies bin.

Train is a coming

I found a couple stamped images of this train hanging out on my work table and decided to color them and use them on a mini (3”x3”) card.

I like how it looks layered up with some Crystal Effects added to the bright shining lights too! I think but am not 100% sure this is an SU image. I must of stamped it off at a friends or got it in an image swap along the way.

Audrey Bird Watching

ok so I don’t really know if Audrey is watching the birds or not she seems to be glancing back towards us looking at her but I choose to call it that because inside this sweet little card I used the For the Birds image to make a bookmarker. I loved combining the 2 images so they could stand alone but yet they could be together too cause like I said you never know what she is really doing hanging out there on the porch :)

the bookmarker is connected to the card for now but easily can be torn off to use in your current read. I think it is a fun alternative to the basic card I normally tend to make!

Wacky Wednesday – Tumbling Scarecrows

I am not too keen on the fact that my glue to adhere the top layer showed through. Seemed no matter what I tried this AM that is what it did. I guess it serves me right for waiting till the last minute to play {sigh} anywhoooo you get the idea it is a great set and many uses for some fabulous fall cards.

This image is another of the Designed 2 Delight weekly ones and it is called Vino, although it appears to me that someone drank all the Vino already!

There was a lot of discussion on the coloring of the bottle. I have seen many colors for wine bottles but most tended to think they were greenish in color. I guess mine ended up a little blue-green. The Double Delight Challenge was to emboss here and I did on the flower edges with some Ancient Gold Enchanted Gold EP from Ranger as well as the bottle with clear EP from Gary Burlin and on the label with some Mint Jelly EP from BMUSE.

I used my Spellbinders die in my Cuttlebug and then did a little Whisped Frames technique from TJ newsletter as well as the Fossil Stone Technique for the mat piece.

Cheer Up

I was just playing around making some backgrounds and then ended up with a whole stack of them so in my effort to use them up here is one of the cards I came up with. The sentiment is part of a set from FireCracker Designs by Pamela, the flowers are Primas that I just threaded scraps of ribbon through and the butterfly was a metal one I found in my little bin of goodies to which I dabbed alcohol inks on then a cool little gem I found stuck on my work area LOL!

The round green thing I have no clue where it came from but it too was hanging out on my work table and this all just kind of seemed to go together to make a fun cheery card. Yes? No?

Silk Scarves

I made these 2 scarves for my daughter to take to her internship on one of the bake sale days. The goal was to raise enough money to get each child in the program a book bag and some school supplies. They raised money through bake sales, a spaghetti dinner and an ice cream social.

Unfortunately these didn’t sell, actually not much sold at the bake sale the second round :( I think maybe it was just too hot and people weren’t out walking around like the first time. They are still a bit short of their goal.

So if anyone is interested in a hand stamped silk scarf I have these 2 available. The one on the right is done with swirls and dragonflies in purple and blue. The one of the left is done with flowers and a swirl in red and green. They are hand washable and gorgeous! I have made them in the past for some friends and family and they all have been thrilled with them, receiving nice compliments while wearing them too :)

I am asking $10 (plus shipping) and the money (other than shipping) will still go to the internship to help them get each of the kids a book bag!

There’s a New Sheriff in Town!

he he, I just couldn’t help myself with that saying after seeing this BIG cowboy hat and the perfect star emblem to go along with it, all part of the newly released Cowboy Roundup digital set.

I used some scraps of patterned and handmade backgrounds that I found in my bin. Colored him with Copics and Sakura Metallic Gelly Roll pens’. Added a bit of rope so he can catch the bad guys and bind em’ up too!

Have a Mice Day!

Once again just under the wire with my Designed 2 Delight posting. Actually I haven’t even been making the wire as far as my blog goes but I have been getting them uploaded on Crafters Digital Art Center where I follow the d2d group. This week we had both an image and some wording (if we wanted to use it…I did) I printed the image twice and used only the bottom grass and mouse to add a little bit of depth to the card.

I also choose at the last minute to add the button to qualify for this weeks Double Delight Challenge of using one as well as a touch of blue (my sky – Whisped Frame at the top [TJ] and in the mouse too!).

I can’t wait to see what image is for next week. I still can’t say I am loving digi’s but I do like getting something new to play with each week!

Paper is from DCWV, Hollo’s and Paper Temptress. Coloring was done with Copics and Twinkling H2O’s. I added a few pearls in various sizes on the center of the flower from Queen & Co. So what do you think?

Seems Wednesday flew right by me last week and I didn’t get to let you all in on the great sales or the Wacky Wednesday set :( So sorry! Let me just say that NO I am NOT looking forward to cooler temps just yet, less humidity perhaps but not cooler temps really :) I am enjoying the warmth! So now that that is cleared up here is my Christmas in July share for you all.

I colored the snowman with my Copic markers and then used some Polar White Flower Soft for a base for him to be standing in. The paper is from Basic Grey Wassail line and I added the length of ribbon using Red Line tape and just made it pucker a little to give the ruffled look once it was attached. The words were stamped with Versamark ink and then heat embossed with Inkadinkado Gold Embossing Powder.

Scuba anyone?

This is another one of Lilyboo Designs fabulous freebies I picked up. Same concept of punching then coloring the scalloped edge to make a faux layer for it. I added a bit of some Cuttlebug Highlighted background (TJ) to it to simulate bubbly water and the card is a latch type so when open the image is popped off the edge.

I colored this one with Copics and Sakura Metallic & Gel pens. I think this penguin is adorable!

Designed 2 Delight had a wonderful challenge to go along with last weeks freebie image for the monthly players. It was for tent topper cards. I don’t do these often but they really do look nice when complete . . . I need to remember to try them more often!

I printed the image 3 times in varying sizes and then used pop dots to layer them for the topper portion. The outer portion and the word WISH is colored with Copic markers and the flame has an added bit of Stickles to make it shimmer. The polka dotted paper is from Basic Grey Lime Rickey line and the funky ric rac is from Really Reasonable Ribbon! I just love the hugeness of this ric rac and am almost out…boooo!

Where has the time gone?

It is less than 2 weeks till the shower for my daughter’s wedding! I can’t believe the time has flown right by and we are still trying to pull all the details together yet!

Here is a wedding card I made awhile back for a partner in a swap but didn’t want to post before she got it :) I took two pictures so you could see the shimmer of the AI Foil technique (TJ) on it! I really liked this one and it was hard to part with!

The couple is from Forever & Always by FireCracker Designs by Pamela. It is a great set and has been getting a LOT of use around here lately LOL!

The green pearls are from Queen & Co. and make a perfect embellishment for this card.

Happy Birthday Cupcake

Isn’t this a great image from Lilyboo Designs! It was one of her Freebies offered so I grabbed it awhile back :)

It is actually a circle and then I used my Scalloped punch to punch it out and my black copic to color the scallops in making it look like it was layered! Pretty nifty huh!

How about that cupcake nestled into the powdery fluff? That is Polar White Flower Soft! I layered some fun polka dot patterned paper from basic Grey’s Sugar Rush line onto some black and then used FireCracker Designs by Pamela Happy Everything to stamp the words and embossed with SU detail embossing powder. I really like the simplicity of this one but that the layers and "faux layers give it some pep!

Summer Flippin’

I finally had a few minutes to play and used these fun flip flops from FireCracker Designs by Pamela.

These flips are fabulous and can be colored in so many ways! They are part of a great digi set from FireCracker Designs called Summer Flippin’. I wanted to use up some scraps of my funky Lime Rickey from Basic Grey so I went with bright oranges, greens and blues! I put the Prima with the button in the upper corner to resemble the hot summer sun!

gray leather?

When I saw this gray leather paper at Paper Temptress I immediately thought of the wonderful Elephants on Parade set that I have.

I love this set!

I wanted to show the paper off so I simply used one stamp and a bit of Bubble Gum Pop Tones (also from Paper Temptress) for matting with a small strip of Basic Grey Bittersweet paper to set the image off. Well impatient me stamped the elephant on the gray leather paper and then didn’t wait to let the ink dry AND wasn’t smart enough to heat set it before picking it up and trimming it. So I smeared it a bit. Great how do you salvage that?

Easy Peasy smear it some more within the confines of the stamped image as much as you can! What an awesome way to highlight the image to make it stand off the paper without actually stamping another one and stacking it on!

You can see the elephant looks a bit darker than the surrounding gray. Pretty cool huh! Ok I don’t suggest setting out with the intent to do this but if you happen to smear a bit it might be doable to salvage your image and whatever awesome paper you are using.

Since the leather has that wrinkly look I choose the “you look good in wrinkles” sentiment to pair it with and added a few square pink rhinestones from Kaiser Scrapbook to the top corner for a little balance. I think this will make a fun birthday card too!

Sing a New Song

I received the 3rd image of the month in the Designed 2 Delight digi give away and wanted to be sure to get my card done and actually up in time!

I printed this image 2 times to try once on some cream paper and once on some semi gloss white. The cream I totally botched the coloring job so with my limited time to get this done I was stuck with the semi gloss white. Copic’s really don’t color too well on this paper I see per the scan. Although IRL it doesn’t look so streaky :( Why is that scanning shows every little imperfection? Darn it!

The sentiment was printed also and then I used a template and my slice to cut it out. Added some great patterned ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon, matted the image with a bit of blue paper (scrap bin) and layered it all onto some fabulous textured green paper from Hollo’s.

Birthday Ring

How about a lovely birthday card with an all in one image?

This Birthday Ring fits the bill quite nicely with a fun font sentiment and sweet little flowers around the edges! I chose to punch the flowers after coloring them to add these awesome fuzzy brads from Queen & Co. I also used a brush to pounce/stipple on some Palette Landscape Green color around the edges to match and tie them together. I colored the flowers with a bit of Y00 & V12 to match the fabby Basic Grey Green at Heart paper scrap I found on my desk. I paired it with some Gumdrop Green Pop Tones layers and some Sparkle Mangue paper (both from Paper Temptress) to make a bright and cheery birthday card!

The ribbon was actually a sheer nylon that I ran my YG63 marker over to add a bit of color and make it stand out more on the Sparkle Mangue paper. I really like this one, do you?

Spring Garden

What happens when you muck up your coloring on a fantastic image and only have one of them? You PUNCH it that’s what! LOL!

I was coloring the Spring Walk image from FireCracker Designs by Pamela and totally botched it on one half by grabbing the wrong color for my flowers and then while trying to fix it having it bleed all over the place…grrrr hate when that happens but this lovely image is cool in that it can work with only half! So yep I grabbed my Fiskars circle punch and PUNCHED it!

Image was printed on Neenah cs and then I layered it with some great Brown Bag paper from Paper Temptress and used some of her fabulous Pop Tones in Gum Drop Green for the card base. The bottom piece I used FireCracker Designs by Pamela’s background stamp from her ATC set to stamp onto the shimmery blue paper and embossed it. Then I gently rubbed my Distress Tea Dye ink over it to give it some color to go with the green and Brown Bag paper. It looks better IRL :)

Here is a close up too of the butterfly and flowers can you see the little bit of shimmer that is the Smooch on there :) I really like the shimmer it gives to small bits of the cards when used over markers.

Cream of the Crop

Maybe you’re like me and don’t have a fisherman or hunter father, not one who works on cars or is a handyman kind of guy…well Pamela came up with a great image here that might just fit the bill! I love the funny saying that goes with it and tucked it inside “To my Pop who’s Cream of the Crop” LOL

The image is called Cream Soda and comes with extra straw parts, a reverse plain mug (think beer mug) and the fabulous sentiments. You can get your own copy {HERE}

I used some Liquid Appliqué to make the froth on this soda and I really like the way the blue (copic markers) looks frosty on the mug. The cool ribbed paper is from Paper Temptress and is her new corrugated line in chocolate. The blue paper is the Berrylicious Pop Tones line and the off white is the Whip Cream Pop Tones line. How fun are those names and flavors all together! The ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

Tall Ship

Wednesday one of the Tall Ships rolled into Cleveland for the upcoming festivals. I didn’t get to see it live but did catch it on the news. I have seen them in the past though and they are so beautiful! I saw this image on Bird’s Cards blog and fell in love with it. You can find it under her free images/boys category.

I have been playing more and more with digi images but I have to be honest I still love rubber more :)

I also was in a swap for a handmade bookmark so I played around with making a tear away one from a card. Couple of changes I will make next time it to have the bookmark and card both going the same way LOL! Also put the bookmark image facing out so when you first open the card it is showing, or perhaps decorate BOTH sides of the bookmark!

Here is a close up of the bookmark part.

The light house image is unknown it is a wood block set but there are no markings on any of the sets :( Sentiment is from Hero Arts (good things msg. C2826) I used Palette inks and Copic markers to color the images and then Memento Ink for the sentiment.

Papers are DCWV, Hollo’s and Neenah from Paper Temptress which was used for printing the image on.

Are you ready for this month’s blog hop…I guess I am (shrugging)

Something exciting this month is that for this week and next week we have paired up with Paper Temptress to offer you some exciting cards and samples to ogle over! The challenge this month was to share our favorite Traveling Tunes with you all. Well I have to admit my taste in music is more towards oldies and some musicals when I am in the car. Unless I am having one “of THOSE days” and I tend to blare some great 80’s rock songs. The first song I thought of is one from Smokey Joe’s Cafe called Spanish Rose in Harlem but can you believe I do not own Pamela’s fabulous Paper Roses :( So now I am stuck! THINK THINK THINK … SEARCH SEARCH SEARCH…I come up with a list of songs I might be able to work with and then my mind is a complete blank! I have no idea how to execute the idea in my head!

This is what I ended up with, inspired by several phrases from songs that kept popping into my head after my searching… let’s see if you can guess any of them… (read the PSS for the answers)

Mice Wishes for a Happy Birthday

Happy Wednesday everyone! I played along with Designed 2 Delight’s monthly digital challenge and this is the 2nd weeks image. I tried to do a little out of the ~~box~~ punch technique but the bottom leaves something to be desired. Let’s just say that hand held punched don’t work out so well!

Anywhooo this image is called Mice Wishes and I printed him on Neenah paper from Paper Temptress, colored him with copic markers and then added a strip of Basic Grey Lime Rickey paper to the Teal Basis card base from Paper Temptress also. I printed the balloon image a second time and it is pop dotted up on the card front for some dimension. The Happy Birthday stamp is from Stampcraft.

Can’t wait to see what the next weeks image is!

Forever Postage Pear

This is a great postage stamp image from FireCracker Designs by Pamela called Forever Postage. I printed and colored with Copic markers then added it to a piece of patterned paper from my scrap bin. Added some dew drops to the corners and adhered it to a card base. Simple card but I really love this image!

This is also a sketch challenge from RSC that I did awhile back but again didn’t get posted in time for the challenge…

Feeling Blue?

I have this container of stamped images I have gathered over the years, many from way back at the beginning of my introduction to stamping. Some added when I visit a friend and see something they have that I might like but one of the things I continually forget to do it write on the back of the image who it is from :( I stamped this while visiting Anna one time so maybe she can chime in and let us know who it is from.

Coloring was done with Copic Markers and added some Smooch Pearlized Top Coat Illuminate to the pink underbelly, the eyelids and the spots on this blue gator (?) The card base was already striped and I have no idea where it came from either but this is really nice paper smooth and a bit of shimmer to it also. The letters are from some scrapping supplies I found in a drawer, which I actually think I got from a long ago trip to Chicago where I met Froby :) (they’ll know who they are! LOL)

So I hope you aren’t feeling blue today and if you are I am wishing you get well soon! (that is what it says inside!

This was one of the samples I made for my daughter while working on shower invitations for her upcoming wedding shower…it didn’t pass go LOL but I still thought it was cute and wanted to share it with you all.

The stamps are a combination of FireCracker Designs by Pamela’s wedding set and Inque Boutique which I found on clearance at my local Pat Catan’s store.

One More Candle

One of my stamping buddies recently had a birthday and I made her this fun card! I used some Liquid Appliqué on the frosting to add a little more oophm to the card :) She says she’d rather not remember her birthday but I think she is worth celebrating!

Stamp is from Bugaboo and I used Copics to color, some Smooch Pearlized Top Coat Illuminate to highlight and add shimmer and some Sugar Rush paper from Basic Grey as well as some Queen & Co pearls. Did a little out of the box technique from TJ too!

Here is an ATC set I made using 2 stamps from this set, a flower from Happy Hour (last week’s Wacky Wednesday set) and words from Happy the Hedgehog. I painted Twinkling H2O’s onto the background stamp and stamped it onto white paper to make my own background. Over stamped the flower and then colored it with Copics. For the back I was using white paper as my base so I used a light grey to stamp the info on and wrote with a regular ink pen before I adhered the other matted pieces to the base.

I think this turtle with her smile is adorable! She is from Bugaboo. I colored her with Copic markers and used some Origins paper from Basic Grey. Added a few Queen & Co. rhinestones around the scalloped border and also to her cute little shoes! and there you have it a fun any occasion card!

Sanded Coordinates Technique

The technique is from Technique Junkies called Sanded Coordinates and I used a piece of my Black Magic paper in green to do it on. I haphazardly layered a portion of CTMH wire around, then layered it onto a purple mat that was stamped with the same flower top as the one I fully stamped and cut out to mount on the top of the card. The flower was colored with Copic markers, I was just playing around with the flicking technique a bit. The flower is part of the set from FireCracker Designs by Pamela called Forgive Me.

Christmas x 2

Here are a couple Christmas cards I found while cleaning things up. I am forever cleaning and finding things like this and then before I can use them for next year I am sure they will be lost again! LOL! No I have a nice little pull out box now where I can store my cards. So far I am just putting them in as I find/make them but I think it will eventually get organized by category so I can just go pick one out instead of look through them all and then lost track of what I was doing and before I know it hours have gone by….I KNOW I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO THIS HAPPENS TO! :0)

These were made at a stamp chat awhile back I have no idea who the stamp makers are nor the papers used but they are nice and I still wanted to share!

Simple Sparkle & Shimmer

Just a simple card for today I used a flower doodle from Bird’s Cards that I digitally altered to 3 sizes, printed on some fabulous Paper Temptress paper and then cut & stacked them with pop dots. Through the top layer I added a Basic Grey brad and adhered it all to a mini card, the kind you would use for a gift package. I love this for the simplicity, the sparkle and the flash of color from the brad.

Wedding Card

I know the photo is a bit blurry but I had already gave the card to my mom for sale before I had dealt with the photo’s so I couldn’t redo it – My Apologies! I just really liked how this one had turned out so I wanted to share the basic gist of it with you all!

Paper is from Paper Temptress and from Basic Grey. Ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon and the stamp is from one of Pamela’s newer sets called Always & Forever. I colored with Copic Markers and then added the yellow around the couple with my stipple brush. I cut them out using a nestability die and some out of the box technique. The pearls are from Queen & Co.

Watch for more with this set as I am working on wedding stuff for my daughter!

FCD Presents – May Mayhem

So are you ready for this month’s blog hop?

The challenge this month was to create something grungy & distressed. The more mayhem, the merrier. {cringe – not my style}

So I tried a couple things for this one and to me this just looks like a messy card and one that would get tossed in the garbage…

I used the Scatter Joy set and some Kaleidacolor Bouquet ink as well as Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Tea Dye.

Yeah I am seriously thinking this is headed to the round file.

Take 2:

I used the Women In Character set to make a Cracked Glass piece but that technique and I aren’t always in sync and even though it cracked I had a hard time rubbing any ink into the lines to make them show up better. Plus the fact that I had stamped the image with the Tattered Rose Distress Ink made it perhaps a little too light for this. I just can’t seem to win here. BUT I am 100% on for the challenge because the whole thing has me in a state of distress! (hey, it counts right?!?!?)

I made the card using some Basic Grey Porcelain paper and tearing some paper edges. Added a key and some dye stained lace and ribbon as well as a Prima flower.

{hmmmm I think I skipped grunge and distress and ended up in Vintage land somehow. }

The saying is from the Fall Quotes set and I thought fit here as she really looks like she is thinking of something.

Wacky Wednesday – Oops-a-Daisy

Oops-a-Daisy is the set that Pamela from FireCracker Designs has chosen to feature today for her rubber lovers at 50% off! This is a great set and I just love this flirty daisy!

I was playing with some Crayon resist technique and decided that this along with Laura’s Sketch #52 from 2 Sketches 4 You would make a delightful card. So I got out another sheet of glossy paper and went to town :)

I used Palette inks in Bella Rose and Landscape to color the flower that I had punched out and then used some great new Basic Grey Capella paper to mat the punched out flower. I highlighted opposing sides with some copper Queen & Co. pearls.

Outlines Birthday Card

Outlines Stamps! I have a friend who was really into these and had brought them to a shoebox party. I did a few but the whole cutting and layering up thing was/is a PITA for me with my carpal tunnel and fibro hand issues. So I had put this into a folder and forgotten about it for some time. Well again on that cleaning out rampage I went on I found the pieces parts and lucky me was having a good day so I took the time to assemble it. Cute card but square. Yeah I am not so into square cards cause I have no square envies and I don’t like having to pay extra postage to mail them! Soooo now it sits in the completed cards pile but no idea what I will do with it!

I picked this little stamp up at a sale a few weeks back. The weather was nice I decided to go for a drive and this was one of the little ones I ended up with :) I don’t know who it is by either as the wording is worn off the wooden block. I paired it with some Basic Grey paper scraps I had and assembled it onto a small square card base left over from one of my card kits.

YooHooo! Wacky Wednesday Special

Today is Wacky Wednesday at FireCracker Designs by Pamela and she has chosen to feature Yoo Hooo! so it is on sale at 50% off today! This set is wonderful with bluebirds and owls and some fun sentiments to pair with them!

I used the bluebirds on my card today and the Fly Away With Me sentiment. I found a background I made using a TJ Spritz technique with Simple Green and thought they would look great on it! From the clip it looks like they are flying along over water (flash photography LOL!) but as you can see in the card no it isn’t it is above some lovely flowers from the Silhouette Flowers set. I stamped them with Versamark and then embossed with black powder. I added the sentiment which is also embossed with black powder and matted with a scalloped square. The bluebirds are colored in with some Smooch Pearlized Top Coat and I added some Hero arts mini pearls to the flowers to finish them off.

This is something I suffer from and on this day I want to share with you an open letter that explains some information on this debilitating syndrome. If you know me you can probably pinpoint what parts I especially have trouble with and if you have questions please feel free to ask. “If you were born with healthy genes, you may know me but you don't understand me. I was not as lucky as you. I inherited the predisposition to chronic pain, fatigue and forgetfulness. I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia (FMS) after months, years or even decades of mysterious physical and emotional problems. Because you didn't know how sick I was, you called me lazy, a malingerer, or simply ridiculous. If you have the time to read on, I would like to help you understand how different I am from you. WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT FIBROMYALGIA 1. FMS is not the newest fad disease. In fact, it isn't a disease at all, and it isn't even new. In 1815, a surgeon at the University of Edenburgh, William Balfour, described Fibromyalgia. Over the years, it has been known as chronic rheumatism, myalgia and fibrositis. Unlike diseases, syndromes do not have a known cause, but they do have a specific set of signs and symptoms which, unfortunately for the patient, take place together. Rheumatoid arthritis and lupus are also syndromes. 2. The many physical and emotional problems associated with FMS are not psychological in origin. This is not an "all in your head" disorder. In 1987, the American Medical Association recognized FMS as a true physical illness and major cause of disability. 3. Syndromes strike life-long athletes as viciously as they do couch potatoes. They can be disabling and depressing, interfering with even the simplest activities of daily life. WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT ME 1. My pain - My pain is not your pain. It is not caused by inflammation. Taking your arthritis medication will not help me. I can not work my pain out or shake it off. It is not even a pain that stays put. Today it is in my shoulder, but tomorrow it may be in my foot or gone. My pain is believed to be caused by improper signals sent to the brain, possibly due to sleep disorders. It is not well understood, but it is real. 2. My fatigue - I am not merely tired. I am often in a severe state of exhaustion. I may want to participate in physical activities, but I can't. Please do not take this personally. If you saw me shopping in the mall yesterday, but I can't help you with yard work today, it isn't because I don't want to. I am, most likely, paying the price for stressing my muscles beyond their capability. 3. My forgetfulness - Those of us who suffer from it call it fibrofog. I may not remember your name, but I do remember you. I may not remember what I promised to do for you, even though you told me just seconds ago. My problem has nothing to do with my age but may be related to sleep deprivation. I do not have a selective memory. On some days, I just don't have any short-term memory at all. 4. My clumsiness - If I step on your toes or run into you five times in a crowd, I am not purposely targeting you. I do not have the muscle control for that. If you are behind me on the stairs, please be patient. These days, I take life and stairwells one step at a time. 5. My sensitivities - I just can't stand it! "It" could be any number of things: bright sunlight, loud or high-pitched noises, odors. FMS has been called the "aggravating everything disorder." So don't make me open the drapes or listen to your child scream. I really can't stand it. 6. My intolerance - I can't stand heat, either. Or humidity. If I am a man, I sweat...profusely. If I am a lady, I perspire. Both are equally embarrassing,so please don't feel compelled to point this shortcoming out to me. I know. And don't be surprised if I shake uncontrollably when it's cold. I don't tolerate cold, either. My internal thermostat is broken, and nobody knows how to fix it. 7. My depression - Yes, there are days when I would rather stay in bed or in the house or die. I have lost count of how many of Dr. Kevorkian's patients suffered from FMS as well as other related illnesses. Severe, unrelenting pain can cause depression. Your sincere concern and understanding can pull me back from the brink. Your snide remarks can tip me over the edge. 8. My stress - My body does not handle stress well. If I have to give up my job, work part time, or handle my responsibilities from home, I'm not lazy. Everyday stresses make my symptoms worse and can incapacitate me completely. 9. My weight - I may be fat or I may be skinny. Either way, it is not by choice. My body is not your body. My appestat is broken, and nobody can tell me how to fix it. 10. My need for therapy - If I get a massage every week, don't envy me. My massage is not your massage. Consider how a massage would feel if that charley horse you had in your leg last week was all over your body. Massaging it out was very painful, but it had to be done. My body is knot-filled. If I can stand the pain, regular massage can help, at least temporarily. 11. My good days - If you see me smiling and functioning normally, don't assume I am well. I suffer from a chronic pain and fatigue illness with no cure. I can have my good days or weeks or even months. In fact, the good days are what keep me going. 12. My uniqueness - Even those who suffer from FMS are not alike. That means I may not have all of the problems mentioned above. I do have pain above and below the waist and on both sides of my body which has lasted for a very long time. I may have migraines or hip pain or shoulder pain or knee pain, but I do not have exactly the same pain as anyone else. I hope that this helps you understand me, but if you still doubt my pain, your local bookstore, library and the internet have many good books and articles on Fibromyalgia. ****** Author's note: This letter is based on communications with people throughout the world, males and females, who suffer from Fibromyalgia. It does not represent any one of the over 10,000,000 people with FMS, but it can help the healthy person understand how devastating this illness can be. Please do not take these people and their pain lightly. You wouldn't want to spend even a day in their shoes or their bodies. Row of Vases

I received this image in a swap so I am sorry to say I don’t know who it is by. I colored it with Copic markers and then used some 3D Crystal Lacquer on the vases to make it look more like water. Paper is from TAC and Hollo’s and a piece of misc I found in my patterned paper bin. I used some upcycled brads along the top and edged the layers with some Palette ink.

Paper Bag Album

Paper bag albums used to be all the rage and any variation on them was something worth trying :) I attended the TAC seminar a few years back with a friend and while cleaning out a drawer found another project we had started there. I finished it up and sent it on to my Mom to use or sell or whatever she wants with. I am sorry I no longer know the paper pack name that was used but the bags are folded nearer to the end to make it long like it is. There are varying size pockets to use in it and a few tags too.

I made this card for my niece whose birthday was in March and I still haven’t seen her to give it to her :( Well I did see her but I didn’t know I was going to see her so I didn’t have it with me and now I feel bad and am going to have to get a little something extra special to put with it and her birthday present to make up for the fact that I am a bad Auntie :(

ok now that I got that off my chest LOL

The image is from The Greeting Farm and colored with Copic Markers and Sakura Glaze pens. I punched a circle from some glossy card stock and stamped the word Happy from FireCracker Designs by Pamela on it before adding a bit of green and yellow ink to it. I then mounted both onto this dreamy paper from Basic Grey. I hope she likes it when she finally gets to see it LOL!

For the Birds is the name of this digital image from FireCracker Designs by Pamela. I printed it then used my Nestability die to cut it out. Before removing it from the die I followed the Wisped Frames tutorial from the TJ newsletter to add a bit of background color. The paper is from Hollo’s and Basic Grey Kioshi and Green at Heart lines.

Dragonfly Collage

I think this digital image from Lindsey’s Stamps is absolutely gorgeous! Definitely one I wish was rubber! I printed and colored it with Copics. trimmed it out and layered it onto some Lime Rickey Basic Grey paper. Added a strip of Really Reasonable Ribbon that I had bound the bow center with a rhinestone brad. This is another Sympathy card – they seem to be the most requested ones lately. I find this one to be very uplifting and I hope whomever it finds its way to does also.

ISC Flowers & Butterfly Challenge

I really love my Innovative Stamp Creations stamps and when I saw this challenge out I knew I had the perfect stamps to play along! I love the butterfly from the Oriental Nature Elements set and stamped it with colored ink instead of black, adding stickles to give it some sparkle and shimmer.
For the background I stamped the small duo of flowers from the Flowers and Elements set over and over on glossy paper in black ink. Then I used my sponges to dab on various colors of Palette ink, blending and smearing as I went. I figured my flowers were special too and added stickles to their centers also. I LOVE LOVE LOVE how the background came out so vibrant and colorful! Wouldn't you love to fall into a field of flowers like this? I know I would!
I added a touch of sparkly ribbon (recycled from a gift I got) and added it to a green card base.

Doodle Factory Final Frontier is such a fun set of stamps! I used this little gal in pink with a bit of Fairy Dust glitter and highlighting to accompany these great pattern paper orbs, a shooting star, some dew drops and a smart “hello” greeting!

I made this for a Mono swap and thought that the TJ technique Mono Dies would be fun to use. I found the patterned paper in my stash and had just enough to make the orbs for the card front! I also added a bit of Crystal 3D Lacquer to her eyes to give her more of a out of this world look LOL!

I really am pleased with how this came out. The technique is from TJ called Kissed with a Twist and what a fun wolf it makes :) The images are from Love Bites by FireCracker Designs by Pamela. A great set! I used the Flourish Single to make the impression on the wolf image before stamping it onto the paper. I added some black and grey paper and a few silver eyelets to complete the card.

Spring is here!

I was cleaning up my desk and found this bright cheery blue paper there with a lone scallop cut out of it. For some reason I had cut it from an A2 base- who knows why but that is ok cause I was able to make this cheery card with the “left-overs".”

Papers are from Paper Temptress and Basic Grey Lemonade, the image is from The Greeting Farm and colored with Copic Markers. I added Prima flowers and misc. rhinestones to the front to finish it off.

What a sneaky monkey from Bugaboo stamps! He is just craving a bite of this scrumptious cake! What fun this card was with all the bright cheery colors from the new Basic Grey Green at Heart line. The image was printed then I colored with a combination of Copics and Sakura glaze and metallic pens. Then I added some fun misc buttons and a bit of funky fiber to complete the card.

Whimsy Doodle Turtle

Isn’t this guy adorable?!?!?! Well I think so and he was fun to color too. As you can see I added some high lights with my Sakura White Gel Pen. I think it is a nice touch for some images to add that bit of oomph! The scalloped circle behind the turtle is also cut from the same paper (Paper Temptress) but I distressed the edges with my Palette inks – what a nice change it makes when adding layers.

The awesome paper is one of Basic Grey’s newer lines called Kioshi – I love it! Such pretty patterns and colors :) I added a few faux dew drops to the mix and a scrap of ribbon that I had colored with my Copics to mach the rose and dew drops. What a fun card! Hope you enjoy it.

A Day Filled with Happiness

I made this card for one of the March birthday’s in the family and am finally getting time to sit down to share it with you all.

The image is from Hambo, I am not sure if I snagged this off a blog post or if it was one they shared already colored or what but all I did was insert it via Paint Shop Pro with the frame (that I made) around it digitally and then printed it out onto my paper before trimming it and mounting on some Making Memories Travel Paper and adding some Queen & Co Pearls.

Zebra Birthday

I saw this wonderful Zebra image while reading my blogs one day, thinking I would save it for some future use. I ended up printing it in a couple sizes and using it to make this birthday card for my Dad.

The zebra image is from DesigNeAl. The tree is from FireCracker Designs by Pamela set called Elephants on Parade and the sentiment is from TAC Wishing You (T-1205) Inks used were Palette and a bit of masking to create the sun.

FCD Presents Word Play

Our hop engineer this month had some tricks up her sleeve with this challenge!

She gave us 3 words to choose from: April, Spring or Bloom. Then, we had to make each letter apply to your art in some way.

She also stuck on 3 required items, where one of our letters had to be a/an

1) Color

2) Embellishment

3) Image

The remaining letters were our choice to apply however we choose to.

I choose to go with the word Spring

S = Swan (image)

P = Pastels & Papers (color)

R = Ribbon (embellishment x 3)

I = Inks - Palette

N – Nestability Die

G – Green (color)

The stamp set I used is called Swan Song and it is such a beautiful swan! I stamped it on a large piece of white paper and then sponged color on with my inks to create a bit of a scene. I then used my Nestie to cut it out and emboss. I didn’t really like the edges but wasn’t sure what to do with them either so I ended up using my Versamarker pen and some clear embossing on them. I kind of like the effect it gives of a bit of a frame.

I used Basic Grey Euphoria paper which is a pretty pastel of blues and pinks and layered it with some scraps of green to fulfill the color requirement. I then used 3 different types of ribbon all layered on top of one another to go across the card under the image. I really like the hint of green peaking out from the pink!

Remember FCD does “circular blog hops” where the only beginning is wherever you start!! You will know you are at the end of your blog hop when you’ve come back to the blog you’ve started from! (It’s not a huge circle…so it should be easy to remember where you started.)

Comforting Thoughts

Basic Grey June Bug paper and some bright sparkly blue from Paper Temptress to make this Sympathy card. The sentiment is from CTMH which I embossed and then used some metallic's to dab along the edges of the nestie that I had cut and embossed.

Not my favorite kind of cards to make but I have several requests for them so I keep trying. If anyone knows of a good Sympathy sentiment set I could really use more variety.
